Last year would have been a better time for the Bears perspective. He's looking to get PAID right now.

No, but it's time to discuss one with Vic Fangio. Apparently, he can develop all the talent the previous regime couldn't.

Agreed. The new coach has to keep him.

Yeah, let's not do that Bruce Arians you have to keep Marinelli shit again with a potential coach. I like Fangio and it would be great if the next coach keeps him, but don't force that again.

Agreed. This is also what worries me just a little bit about Leonard Floyd not being much more than just a solid starter, but nothing special.

I’ve been thinking that as well, but I am having trouble with Vic because of the lack of turnovers (this week excepted).

Dude they tried this for like a decade! They wasted a hall of fame defense on a OC merry-go-round.

They had a generational coach right under their nose and let him go to Miami.

Last year they could have elected to extend his rookie contract an extra year.

last year his status oscillated between "he might quit football" to "chances are slim he makes it past March". so yea, hard to fault them for not extending him last season.

my guess is a teammate got in his ear and motivated Fuller to rededicate himself to football. guy just looks like he's in better shape than past years.

his 5th year option was what $1-2M? guarenteed? they had such little faith in Fuller they weren't even willing to risk that paltry amount of money (the team is in good cap shape i believe too).

It would make sense to discuss it which sounds weird to say. It would also makes sense to not be to far ahead of ones self and over pay on 2 or three games performance.

He sucked in year 2 after fading in the second half of year 1 and then seemed very leisurely about his rehab in year 3. They couldn't guarantee that fifth year. It will cost them but they just could not guarantee him.

A guy like Amukamura was a first rounder who has been good but not great. He has been playing on one year contracts the last two years. I'd say he is a decent comparable (probably better) to Fuller, so I doubt Fuller will break the bank. Give him two years at 5-6 per. That is lower than Prince at 7 but it is also a multi year deal.

He made some plays early (like that pass breakup on the 1st drive), but yeah, he had a rough game today. I still think he's a good player tho. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.
