Next five games are Ducks, Preds, Stars, Stars, Kings. Need at least six points there to stay in it, which I think they can get with a win here, a win in one Stars game, and two loser points in the other three. If you can only come away with three or four, it's time to pack it up. Even now you're just playing for fourth in the division.

Every time they interview Edzo it sounds like he is terminal.

I follow a Fort Worth cop who spends his free time visiting terminally ill kids dressed as Batman, Superman, etc. Heartbreaking stuff.

Do you think he would release that info if he were?

No and I do not think it is the case. I think it is more the production values of the TV pieces.

I saw what they played on the screens during the TV timeout, and that was much more upbeat.

I know we're beating up on the San Diego Gulls, but it's fun!

They can’t score enough goals against these fucks to make it unenjoyable.

No kidding. And I love that they're hanging them on John Gibson, yet another Anaheim goalie who was supposed to change the entire way we think about goaltending but only ends up platooning.

wtf, Mike Liambas is on the Ducks? There's a name I had to scrape off the bottom of my brain: he was one of the worst players on a bad Rockford IceHogs team. I don't think he was even eligible for callups.

Stage 3...that's cutting it pretty close. I hope they get it all out of him.

Nice 1st.

Stage 3 is less than ideal.

DeBrincat is so good at stationing himself perfectly for one-timers. Not quite Panarinesque but he'll get there.

The Saad goal was a really bad one for Gibson/defense to give up. That one just came right down Main Street and no one got in its way. You don't see nearly enough goals like that in today's six-goalie NHL.

Yep, the husband of one of my friends was diagnosed a couple of months later than Edzo. He's finished 2 of 12 chemo sessions.

13 years ago, one of my cousins was diagnosed with Stage Four colon, ovarian, and liver cancer. Eight hours of surgery, two years off of work. She picked up leukemia as a side effect from all the treatments about four years ago, but manages it with a daily mini-chemo pill. She just retired three weeks ago after 43 years of nursing, she did ER for more than 25 years before she got sick.

So Stage Three is less than ideal, but it's no longer a death sentence for many kinds of cancer.

Gibson left the game at the timeout. Not sure why he didn't get pulled right after the goal but okay. Put some on whiny baby Miller. AND DEBRINCAT JUST DID

Winnipeg is up 5-2 on Minnesota, so that helps beat back another blob team. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Comrie, who just got the callup from the Moose, kick ass like he was supposed to and lead the Jets to a long-overdue division title.
