So according to Mac, his source said Pappys new contract would be a down to the wire type of situation. It got me to thinking what is the hold up on new paper. Here are my guesses.

1. Pappy does not want to give up total creative control of the show. CBS/WSCR stance has to be, you have done nothing, let us bring in people who can help.

2. Pappy does not want a solid co-host. CBS/WSCR stance should be, Mike, you greatest on air succes has been with a co host that will challenge you and actual make you think about what you are saying, not just shout people down to make it look like you know what you are talking about.

3. Pappy wants to stay in the time slot he is now. CBS/WSCR has to be saying, not again, not ever again.

Money is not going to be a issue, I still think if CBS offers him 500,000, that is still more then he could have ever possibly thought he could make in one year.

My gut tells me that Mike walks because he cant control things like has in the past, that isnt just mikes fault, thats everyone who allowed him to do so in the 16 years he has been there. Its a shame, because Pappy use to love what he did, but the money and power changed him, he became lazy. Now its going to him directly where it hurts, in the pocketbook and his ego.

I am sure it is, but Pappy has to know he isnt going to get he $$ he got o nthe last contract, no matter what "his guys" bring in revenue, no matter what he says, the ratings do matter and deep down he has to know that. I just think the other issues I bought up are bigger issues with him. Just a dumb opinion...lol

You basically hit it on the head Rodeo. Pappy thinks he's a mega star. The people at the Score have treated him as such. Nothing has been his fault. The Score never holds him accountable. They just fire people around him and move him to different slots. His failures never matter to the people at the Score. He's the only guy in radio who can say that.

Somebody here said it best. Pappy is insultingly stupid. I mean, it is amazing how stupid he is without having any sort of mental retardation. Doctors should study Pappy. He would be a fascinating case study. They would declare him the dumbest man to ever walk the face of the earth.

I'll give him credit for convincing the Score to give him that mega contract 5 years ago. They were dumb enough to do it. I'll never begrudge him for taking it. Just wish he would have tried to do a good show. He always thought he could just flip the mic on, spew bullshit, and people would love him because he has that stupid Chicago accent.

You might be right Rodeo. Pappy might walk due to his ego. There is no other station that wants him right now. I don't think any other station would want him in the future. He's probably thinking that he could wait 6 months or so and some other station in town will come after him. I think he would be wrong.

That's a good catch Big Fan. So Fritzy's broadcasts are only done on Pappy's web site?

I've often wondered if someday a radio host just sets up his own live stream on his own web site. Sells the ads on his own. Granted, Pappy can't make as much doing that as he does at a regular radio station.

But he can make some money. He can do shows from his house with Fritzy. You know he'd have Jen Jen over at the house to produce it. She'd have on a waitress outfit and serve drinks to Pappy and Fritz during the show.

Maybe Pappy is planning on doing this. He's starting it now with the Fritzy show like Big Fan is hinting at.

This song would be on a constant loop for the entire Pappy/Fritzy webcast.

Hell, if he's gonna say no to the Score's offer and not get hired anywhere else, he might as well do his own webcast.

I dont think it would be a bad idea on his part, but for me Fritzy is a reason why I wouldnt listen to it. Mike I am sure has a idea and plan if he walks, he might be dumb in a way, but when it comes to money coming in and PR for him, he knows what to do.

Money and Control.

Mike wants as much of both as possible, and his bosses, to this point, haven't been as willing to overpay for his production.

I stopped listening to his show for the most part, but he clearly needs a strong cohost to keep him on track. That's the first step, and although I don't know exactly what Jen Jen does, hiring people with no experience and making them executive producers sounds a bit off to me as well too.

He USED to be the king of sports radio in Chicago, now he's an irrelevant joke. No other station will put him on in prime radio time and the Score should move him out of that kind of slot too. He's now a sad has been.

Take what Pappy says about that with a grain of salt. I just think he might be selling it by saying that.

So he's going to do a webcast from where--his basement?--with this moron Fritzy who got fired for anti-Semitic remarks and that's how he's going to retain his position as the self-proclaimed king of Chciago sports radio? What a joke. Those two dipshits talking about their madcap barhopping adventures "back in da day" interspersed with a bunch of Marconi giardiniera spots. Yeah, that's compelling.

I actually went to Northtonorth.com to check out this Fritzy/Pappy thing. I won't do it again. I was curious. It was a half hour.

Yeah, that's what it is Pappy's Crappy. It was, Obama sucks, Blago sucks, da smoking ban is gonna hurt da state, Drew Peterson might be innocent.

Then, at the end, they beg for Sponsors. Get this, Fritzy said he'll make personal appearances for any bar that sponsors this show. Yeah Fritz. People will line up to see you.
