If i had to build a franchise, I would take him hands down, with Deron Williams a close second.

If i had to win a playoff series, I would take Kidd, Billups... hell I'd even consider Tony Parker (finals MVP)

If I had to win 1 game, I would take Nash, Paul... I guess Wade is not a pure point?

Until CP actually wins a playoff series, how do we know he isn't the second coming of Kevin Johnson?

1.) Why the hell would you even consider Tony Parker?

2.) Kevin Johnson has never had a season even remotely approaching this.

3.) Wade is definitely never a PG.

My point is wait until the playoffs, that's when stars or born or exposed.. until i see him win something refrain from hyperbole.

KJ had tons of 20-10 seasons... never won a thing.

Reg season stats in the NBA are only good for Fantasy league GMs..

I agree with your first sentence. I wouldnt consider it hyperbole whatsoever though to say he's the best PG in the NBA. Kidd is quickly dropping out of the top 5, if not he hasnt yet, Im not sure why you would throw him in there. I could beat him in a game of horse and he routinely gets smoked on defense by younger, quicker guards.

Is that why Dirk Nowitzki, last years MVP, is still widely regarded as the best player/PF in the game?

/sarcasm

I dont know one person nor have I heard one NBA pundit say that. Thats absolutely ridiculous. I dont get the sarcasm/your point.

That's exactly my point, fold up like a lawnchair in the playoffs, your rep is bound to take a hit.

I'm not saying your boy Paul is going to do that, but geezus let's see him win a playoff series or perform in the heat of the playoff pressure before we anoint him as the second coming.

hes been doing that. since the all star game everyone in the west is basicly playing in the playoffs. most of their games are against other very good teams and hes handling it wonderfully having a 1 game lead on the rockets for the 1 seed.

Im not annointing him the second coming of anything. He's the best PG in the NBA, thats all Im saying. I still have yet to hear one logical counterargument to that statement. Every time I say that, the only opposing argument I hear is "He's young!". That means nothing to me.

As for the Dirk comparison, I dont think it applies. Dirk never deserved MVP and is easily one of the worst MVP's of my lifetime, if not THE WORST.

I agree with your playoffs point, but untill Im proven wrong Im still gonna say Paul is the best PG in the playoffs. Luckily for us we will have an answer to the playoffs question a month from now.

It should be interesting because any of the top 5-6 seeds in the west could easily lose in the first round.
