I posted last year's finals and Irving's numbers were comparable to Curry.

Let's look at these numbers.

Steph - 26.8 PPG, 9.4 APG, 8.0 RPG, 2.2 SPG, .619 TS%
Kyrie - 29.4 PPG, 4.4 APG, 4.0 RPG, 1.0 SPG, .558 TS%

I think you're probably the only person who would look at that and say Kyrie's line was better.

And if you really want to get owned in this discussion, we can look up their regular season numbers.\

Kyrie/Butler is a good debate and there's a case to be made for both. There's no debate or comparison between Steph and Kyrie.

You're lying. I said they were comparable and what does it matter since it wasn't head to head.

When they were head to head previous season Irving destroyed him. That is what matters. Curry merely played better. You have been consistently lying that he owned him.

Again it's difficult to assess it when his scary checked JR. The entire series. once that happens it makes no sense to discuss who played better.

I've tried to educate you on this in the past but it doesn't hold. GS plays a defensive system that relies on defensive switching more than any team in the league. This is effective and makes them consistently one of the best defensive teams in the league every season. They do this because virtually everyone on the team is a versatile defender who can disrupt passing lanes, including Steph Curry. With Klay Thompson being one of the best defenders in the league, it would make sense for him to start out on Kyrie, but Steph switched on to him plenty of times and ended up guarding him on roughly 30% of Cleveland's plays in that series.

Man look the horse left the barn on this already. You're not credible either. Irving guarded him the entire series. Curry and his switches I'd love to see. Thompson checked him period. It doesn't jive to keep spinning it. They also played a switching defense the previous season and after Irving torched him for 20 in one quarter they switched Thompson onto him.

I love how you respond to facts by petulantly claiming none of them count and none of it ever happened.

Nah they won't let it go. I said I'd revisit it later and I will.

I'm comfortable seeing how this plays out.

Farve is the one constantly on the Irving Curry stuff if you haven't noticed. As well as dude is playing I should be thumping my chest all over the city.

They can't accept the fact that I was right about 2 years ago and they are keeping it going. I moved on once the series was over.

They're the ones with a milion excuses. It's all spin.

Kyrie is playing great this year. Steph is still playing better.

Don't go thumping too much.

Kyrie is great and made a ballsy decision. The bitch move is to stay in Cleveland and ride LeBron's coattails so he never has to live up to the pressure of being the main guy. Out of all the nba opinions on here, "Kyrie is a bitch for wanting to win without LeBron" is easily the most asinine, bizarre, etc.

A so-called PG averaging less than five assists per game is pathetic.

At 22 they would not have taken Butler over Wiggins. That speaks to talent.

You thought people would have taken MCW too. What the hell do you know?

You mean Rookie of the Year MCW, same as Wiggins was?

Goes to show that a high draft pick, 'talent' and a quick start can only get you so far! Guess I'd rather take the player that, I don't know, actually gets better at basketball?

Yeah once Wiggins comes off the bench for his 5th team then it will be a valid comp. Jordan was also a rookie of the year too. Does that mean his career is equal to MCW?

For that matter why not compare em all to MCW.

LBJ eats a Ben Simmons for breakfast.

Quote:
Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons has already drawn comparisons to Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James, and it turns out The King believes Simmons could one day surpass him.

Per Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated, Simmons revealed that James told him the following at the LeBron James Skills Academy four years ago: "You have an opportunity to be better than me. But you can't skip steps. You have to do the work."

Simmons' production this season has been reminiscent of what LeBron did early in his NBA career, as he is averaging 18.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

Simmons is a mature rookie at 21 after missing all of last season due to injury, and his numbers are arguably more impressive than what LeBron put up in 2003-04.

As a 19-year-old, James averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest straight out of high school.

I'd guess that Simmons won't end up as good as or surpassing LeBron, but he should still be a Top 10 player pretty much his entire career. Maybe the single best player in the league during at least a couple of his seasons.

But LeBron is a generational talent.

I think FF is in the lead, I'm in second place, and Powerhouse is running third. After that, you have Nas, LTG and vegan trailing the podium by a wide margin.

I think they've determined that it's Butler's team because the other guys aren't ready. He's taken another step as a leader too. Reality is they need Towns and Wiggins to grow for their future to be bright.

It helps that he is a Top 12 player in the NBA and the others are not.

Towns will need to grow. Wiggins will need to be traded for a player who doesn’t suck.

Towns really hasn't played bad. He is a bad defender and that may plague him his entire career. Butler is doing "The Butler". Bumslaying weak teams is an essential part of the Butler motif.

Thibs is doing the "The Thibs". He is Running his starters into the ground for the purpose of ekeing out regular season wins.

The world will have a better grasp on the Wolves at the end of January. I expect them to get bounced on a regular as they will have played against better teams.

Towns and Wiggins lack heart and continue to make AWFUL decisions when it matters. I think the team is starting to gel and unless there is an injury I don't expect them to suck.

I said easy win. I did not say that they would call it early just because the Wolves are up by 25.

Not impressed with Timber Puffs. Lots of talent but their offense is a joke.
