I've only heard him a few times on the beat, but I say good for him. Regardless of what kind of job you think he does as an on air host, he did alright the few times I heard him covering the baseball beat. If he can be halfway decent at this and work his way into becoming really good, then I'd root for that.

I don't mind Jesse. I actually like the Hit and Run show with Offman.

I think Jesse will be a good baseball reporter too.

That's right--he's only been at this broadcasting thing about ten years or so. I turn the channel when I hear his voice.

Hit and Run is a good show. It's perfect for a Sunday morning.
Jesse is just alright with me.

I think he does a solid job at reporting. He just is anything but an expert on any of these topics, and that's how I've heard him referred.

Except that he has a problem speaking clearly, concisely and tersely. Good thing he's not on the radio where that is important.

His malaprops are obviously staged (poorly) since no one could get as many cliches as wrong as he does. For someone who is supposed to be following different teams for his assignments, according to me, the only one he has ever served properly is the Hawks. His enthusiasm comes through for hockey.

Every other time I hear him, he seems like he is just waiting for a host to rip him a new a-hole, so that is the persona he has adopted.

IMO, Jesse may be the worst on air 'talent' on the Score. He seems to work hard, for what that's worth 8) , but anytime I hear that nasally, whiny voice it is must turn radio for me. Of course as Mac, and Gene Stallings would put it, don't mistake activity with achievement.

A good reporter, ha ha. At least LoHo 'claimed' to have broken four/five stories, Jesse's claim to fame is what, coffee for North & sidekick on some of the 'alleged' stories???

Jesse is college radio...no...high school radio personified.

Jesse has had no official position with Mike's show in the last six years at least.

Jesse is an employee of the Hawks and the Score.

I realize that Ryan. I just believe that one of Jesse's reasons for remaining employed has to be his tight connection with North. If Mike leaves, I don't believe there's anyone at WSCR that will stick up for Rogers. He's the laughing stock of the station.
Did you hear Jesse's contrubution at 5:10 on Thursday?
Jesse talked about the names listed in Canseco's second book. Rogers didn't understand why those named weren't be challenged like those listed in the Mitchell Report. Bernstein pointed out that one was based on a Congressional investigation, and that is was carried out by a person who's integrity is almost beyond reproach. Jesse agreed and added that Canseco was on the opposite side of that ledger (integrity). He then called Canseco a douchebag and finished by saying that he believes in Canseco.
It's that type of logic that makes me question his usefulness at a sports talk radio station.

Jesse will remain on SCR working for the Hawks at a minimum. He does good work and is well liked by McDonough and others before him. He was let go at the beginning of the season solely for cost cutting reasons. McDonough brought him back within a week of being hired.

The facts bear out Mike needs Jesse far more at this point in his career then Jesse needs him. Look at the train wreck shows that are foisted upon us on a daily basis my Mike and his production staff. The fact is he has been trying to get Jesse to produce his show again for the last three years.

Believe whatever you wish, but for the second time with you, don't let feelings get in the way of facts.

As for Thursday, I never listen to B&B. I would rather spend four hours in a psych ward full of paranoid schizophrenics.

If you want Jesse gone, send Nostradamus an e-mail to give personally to Mitch. :P

He does an ok job with the pre/post hawks games. Sometimes though he says stuff that makes you realize he doesnt understand what the hell hes talking about, like "the hawks need to recycle the puck more to beat the wings".

Not dissimilar to a B&B show where AFTER the fact their peeps have been telling them the same info for years.

And BTW, what part of that statement do you take issue with?

The Hawks need more clear-benching brawls.

My personal feelings?
I've already written that he appears to be a very nice guy.
I didn't know that Mike was trying to woo Jesse back as a producer. When did North say that? At this point, I'll believe you.
My point is simply that the guy has a terrible time making a point. He either does something stupid -- his question to Antonio Alfonseca -- butchers an adage or saying -- or contradicts himself thoughout the course of a comment -- use above example.
This is the same guy that switched his baseball allegiances to the South Side and was puzzled by the amount of heat he received from callers.
As for personal feelings, sounds like you don't like B and B. That's fine, but that doesn't take away from what Jesse said on the radio.

Jesse is ok, he does a good job on the Hawks, but if they get better, he will be gone for a more professional type guy. I think Jesse is still there because of North, Jesse if I recall correctly, was set to be fired when Sweica was launched, but some how found his way to Norths show for a week.

Jesse the baseball reporter is not my cup of tea, he doesnt ask the tough questions and has a lot of Laurence in him when he says, I asked that, but I dont have it on tape.

Jesse has always been a tough on for me, because he is such a nice guy, but radio wise, no, not so good.

I don't know. Lots of Lou's interviews feature giggling reporters. And I invariably can pick Jesse out among them. He's someone though who can bring guys in for interviews.

Believe what you will. But let's set the record straight before someone else with a Score pedigree threatens to sue you for posting false statements.

Swieca quit, she was not launched.

Swieca's Sunday morning baseball show was far and away better than what we get from the dynamic duos of Jesse/George and Chet/Bruce.

I heard Jesse's baseball report last night on Boers/Bernstein's show talking about the White Sox clubhouse attitude, and, to me, it appeared that Jesse was buying into Ozzie's comments that the clubhouse is better this season, but when Bernstein starting ripping it, Jesse seemed to shift his opinion, and he sort of stumbled through the report. It may have been just my perception of the report though.

You nailed it.
That's classic Jesse. He starts to talk and then the water begins to seep into the boat. It doesn't appear that it takes much time for his co-workers to poke holes into his theories. Then there's times like the one stated where he begins to steer toward the co-workers' point -- which contradicts the opening remarks.
