I watched this last night, and I agree with you about Sandler. See also: Punch-Drunk Love and Funny People.
(God, Hoffman's character in this movie was exhausting....)

The fact that you were expecting a payoff 3 episodes into a 10 episode series says it all. I'm with Shakes, it was a very good show.

"the crown" is exceptionally good, but i'd never recommend it to anyone who doesn't like masterpiece theater or isn't interested in royal family affairs.

I started Mindhunters last night. It was good but that first episode was a slow burn. Just get to the serial killers already!!!

What's the deal with trailers for Netflix shows being in English and then it turns out to be foreign language?

I'm looking at you Frozen Dead

The Crown is pretty good. The 2nd season is better than the 1st. The Queen could really bring it back in the day. Still has a nice heavy bosom.

They are replacing the people who portray the Queen, Phillip, and Margaret for the third season as they move the story forward. Olivia Colman (Broadchurch, Peep Show) is slated to the play the Queen.

You really come to hate Duke of Windsor, a.k.a. Edward VIII by the middle of the season.

hm. i don't dislike him so far...that'll be interesting to see.

how far in the future are they progressing this that they have to recast everyone? not that it's of equal quality but "outlander" pushed their characters 20 years into the future and still kept the same actors.

I'm guessing ten years? Colman is 44 IRL and Bonham Carter (51) is rumored to be playing Margaret.

Season 2 ends in 1964, putting Elizabeth at 38.

Watch Edward VIII: The Nazi King on Netflix; gives you more insight into him.

I knew they were replacing everyone for the next season, but had no idea they went with Colman. She's fantastic! Was disappointed knowing that we wouldn't see Foye anymore, but now I'm just looking forward to Colman in the role. Great news.

They're planning to go with 3 different actors for the Queen. So they're gonna cover her whole life. Don't know who is gonna play her as an old lady yet.

Any Top Gear fans who haven't caught up on the Clarkson/Hammond/May episodes, they are set to expire on Feb 1

New show, the End of the Fucking World, looks real interesting. Getting great reviews too I think.

First episode was ok.

Watched first couple episodes of DOPE. That Baltimore episode is especially disturbing. I love how the cops are so concerned about heroine now that it's invading the burbs. Smh.

I only have one more episode left on this one. Overall it has been a pretty good series. I don't think I would recommend it to anyone here,
seems like it would be perfect for emo Millenials who maybe have a better grasp of what the high school experience today is like. I thought it
was pretty decent with a good soundtrack. Nothing spectacular as far as the young actors go, the main female lead could turn into something
I guess. Not sure what I will jump into next.

Yea she really looked German in her younger years. Lots of girls in Lower Saxony look almost exactly like this.

I mean minus the whole queen thing with the clothes and the shoes.
