Yes. Just like Saban I think he just has no time for anything in life besides football and that includes the media.

If he really covets the Giants job he's on the right track. QB issues notwithstanding they might have the best OL and DL in the entire league. They should get someone to lateral over.

It wouldn't surprise me. He was so happy after the last win and called it the highlight of his life. May have been his perfect ending there.

I don't get the selection, other than the Reid endorsement, when that is not enough.

When I listen to him, I do not feel like I'm hearing a football genius. More like a H.S. football coach.

Giants OL sucks ass, just sayin...and QB issues are the biggest issues

Yep. Better hire all the time

Rube said it was going to be Shurmur. Guess he is wrong again

Surely the Bears could have done better.

Chiefs are 1-12 in their last playoff contests since 94. No scoring for the Chiefs O in the second half on Saturday. Adjustments? Beat by 80 year old DC.

Maybe we should have hired Lebeau instead? That's something I could have got behind.

Both teams are currently riding a 3 game postseason losing steak.

Experience is helpful Rube. No one currently in the NFL has more than LeBeau.

Great defensive end for the Titans in his heyday.

This is the dumbest article I ever read.

http://www.profootballweekly.com/2018/0 ... h/a6j90ik/

So we Bears fan should be happy having hired a coach who was honest about his failure in the Tennessee playoff game? What fallacious reasoning. Though self-honesty is not a bad trait, the objective in hiring a coach is to select one that wins, especially play-off games. Nagy was one and done in the playoffs. That should have disqualified him. And if Pace was sold on him because of his leadership skills, as I've read, and not because of his mind and experience, then he is the wrong person in that GM position for missing the obvious.

I didn't read the article but the guy is young and it sounds like he learned from that mistake. Not a bad thing, I think he'll be a good coach..will Pace give him the horsepower he needs? I've got my doubts there

Matt Patricia to the Giants? Lions dodging a bad hire. Wonder if the idea is for Patricia to go to the Giants as a placeholder hire until Brady finally peters out in NE and then Belichick jumps ship to take the Giants HC reigns with Patricia stepping down to be his DC in NY.

No, I'm being brutally honest.

The Bears are compounding mistake upon mistake, beginning with hiring Pace.

It was clear this year that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was not the franchise QB Bears fans were hoping for. Proof is that we have a thread on this board that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky blows with 12 pages! But Pace and the organization will never admit it was a mistake, because groupthink has taken over. And you have the same bad groupthink in the media, too, when they write articles like the one above.

Shurmur was way more qualified. Not even close. Been an OC with three different teams in the league, including Rams, Eagles and Vikings, and twice head coach. Look what he's done with Bridgewater and Keenum. Cinderella story.

Pace hired a guy in Nagy that told him what he wanted to hear, not what he should hear.

The Bears are like 90s Japan---lost decade and counting.

After reading about Bettcher I'd rather have him than Fangio.

Because FF doesn't think that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is a top QWB, then there is proof of it?

And you weren't present for the interview, but somehow Nagy knew exactly what Pace wanted to hear and said it to him?

And after saying that you wanted a winning coach with a proven track record, Pat Shurmur is your guy?

I've warmed on Nagy because the staff he has assembled so far is pretty good. No bozo's like Kromer or Loggains so far. If they get Bettcher I'll be really, really pleased.

Bettcher is extremely aggressive with his defense. He doesn't let the QB sit back and pick apart the secondary.

Chandler Jones became a monster this year under him. Could easily see Floyd assuming that kind of role.

Says a lot about a guy who can lose his best defensive playmaker every year to injury and Calais Campbell, who is seriously the best defender in the NFL maybe, to free agency and still adapt his way through it. Guys like Campbell, Honey Badger, Peterson and Chandler Jones have developed into legit superstars under Bettcher.
