Bellevue, Iowa. Incredible burnt tips on smoked fries. Smoked pineapple cole slaw was great. Bacon ice cream on the menu.

Pork was good. Brisket looks great. Worth a trip out.

The big ten network does a food show during the football season, they did a bbq show, a place around Iowa City called Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack.

Also a place around Northwestern called BBQ Supply Company, and Illinois called Black Dog

Part of US 52, which I think is one of America's underappreciated highways. Runs from the ND/Canada border all the way down to Charleston SC.
