Ate there last night before the train wreck Hawks game. So it was clearly the highlight of the night.

Pizza like they do in Rome. Awesome!

From what I've seen on TV,the pizza in Rome is about as thick as a credit card. Chicagoans need weight in their pizza.

Yes, we ate a pizza place in Rome and that is how they did it. Trays of pizzas from which to choose, you tell them how much to hack off, they throw it on a scale, weight it, and you go pay while they heat it up in an oven (like quiznos) and then slice it into squares. On your way up to pay you grab your beverage from a cooler. Simple system, great pizza.

And no, the pizza is much thicker than a credit card. I would estimate about 1" - 1-1/2", depending on toppings. But if you are looking for pan pizza, look elsewhere.

That sounds pretty cool... there's a place near where I work called Sbarro's that also lets you look at all the pizzas before you pick what you want. I always thought that was a bad sign, but if they do it in Rome, I must be mistaken!

Two different kinds of pizza in Rome.
