I think he could be really good with some work. He has an engaging personality.

A good producer would work on that. Too bad they are proud they don't need to prepare.

B and B could get away with that.

They shouldn't look at it like Goff replacing Boers. It's a whole new show.

I used to work with unemployed lawyer during the summer in college. He was about as cool Millhouse from the Simpsons

Maybe Jason Bernstein would have been more accurate

Even they didn't get away with it all the time. Plenty of times they tried to wing it and it just didn't happen for them.

I'd categorize is as educated guessing. You have new ownership and you trail against another station in all but morning drive (and maybe overnight? I dunno.)

The OP and most of the discussion seems to be substantiated by simple observations.

it was just one guy on Twitter saying it would be on Tuesday, but I think most people expect these changes after the Super Bowl.

Seacrest, who has a guy on the inside, said within the next 30 days, which makes more sense.

Btw nobody's fucking with Les, right?

I've waxed TLDRetic about the sports talk perfection thar is the guy who puts the "Les" in "vive Les Expos" but when i'm up all night being gainfully unemployed it's nice to have Les there edumacating a mofo on, example, the Chicago hustle tonight. Who knows about their rivals and track record against divisional opponents? The guy who gets made fun of by jealous haters who brag about their culinary habits while Les is like "dude food is free if you actually go to the games" --- shit I'd take a nice bismarck home too if they were dumb enough to leave a bunch out in the press box.

Best part = international scoreheads get the Les grobstein morning show.

Plus I think Les has his groove worked out and I couldn't see the guy doing oncology reads and sponsored poker tournaments and whatnot, altho I think a grobber remote or two would be fun. Especially if he was able to do it at the Jackson red line subway where drunk / transient people walking by are like "what the fuck?" And Les is like "funny story about fucking, you know back in 1977 when I was doing sports phone i was out covering the bulls in kansas city and I was stranded at a gas station broke but I had to do the 7:55pm update so... [Mad libs]"

I flipped on the Score NYE after the party had stopped and who is there to greet me but Les. That is a dedicated employee, especially one who hosts a five day per week show. It really is comforting knowing Les is there, guarding against the forces of evil while everyone else sleeps.

WYC eventually needed to be "put down". But in it's prime, it was great radio. Just bad thoughts by you.

Nope, all time great. The best at WYC were the guys who didn't take it seriously.

WYC did indeed need to be killed.

Friday Fung however needed to live on

Is Friday Fung completely dead? I know B&G did one in December close to the holidays. Is that the only time it's been done since Terry left?

It still appears on the air every couple of weeks or so...similar to Goff's work schedule.

I think they only did the holiday one. I can't remember a normal one. It should be every Friday.

Also WYC may have been bad but it was interesting. What replaced it wasn't an upgrade.

WYC died when it became the same 6 callers on a political rant. Now if it went back to being silly and drunk people calling, even if they didn't get the bit, every Thursday is my vote.

Best Friday fung: Daredevil or dumbass!

Daredevil/Dumbass and Mundane Sports Achivements were required listening for young Furious.

the show's success (B&B) sprung from a Seinfeld-ish "show about nothing", the lack of prep which allowed the show to not be boxed in by required show topics, and Terry balancing Dan's seriousness with just the right wisecrack. The show went steadily downhill, as stated many times, by Penn State, CTE and Terry losing his edge, year by year, staying home due to health issues, and a weeks of the same show, day after day.

On the plus side, Terry has sounded revitalized lately. I doubt he could go 100% five days a week though.

The show was at its best ripping on other hosts on the score, doting on weird news, and generally being funny and entertaining. I'll always remember the good years.
