It will be nice to hopefully have a season without Winona Ryder chewing the scenery.

That would be great. She was truly awful in this.

Fun little show to pass some time. Hopper was my favorite character. Dustin was best kid. I feel they wasted Modine. Should have fleshed out his character more. Few inconsistencies bothered me: nobody in the town caring that Barb was missing or dead and Hopper being allowed to infiltrate the lab and then he is just drugged and left alive when the government so callously murdered the diner guy.

I can't believe JDC hasn't complained about this. Of course no one cares that the fat redhead was gone. She's a fat redhead who was nothing but a man hating cock block.

I've watched about half of the season so far.

I love it.

All of the kids are great. And the Hopper character is fantastic. I love all of the doppelgangers the show creates to further develop its concept of alternate realitie--Steve and Jonathan, Hopper and the State Police, Brenner and the science teacher, etc.

So far, the show seems to suggest that adulthood is the ultimate "upside down" world to which childhood is opposed. I'll be interested to see if characters like Jonathan or Sarah can emerge as models for a kind of human agency that moves beyond the childhood=good, adulthood=bad dichotomy. Hopper will probably also be an important character in this regard.

Y'all are way fuckin behind. As far as first seasons go this is among the best recently, and I don't even usually like these type of shows.

My Netflix is fuckin' up and I've been too lazy to call them, but today I finally did. There's a few shows I want to check out.

Young Julie DiCaro just died. I'm hoping Nancy and her boyfriend's romance plays into the story here because I'm tired of seeing kiddy porn. She looks like she's 12.

Why did Hopper get in the limo with the bad guys at the end?...Does it have something to do with why he wasn't killed?

Did he leave the food in the box in the woods for Barb? She's gotta be starving out there?

Dump that stupid rich kid for the poor kid already.

Definitely wanted some more back story on Modine.

You're a joke

Actually, I guess Barb is dead after googling around...I didn't recognize her body in the "Upside Down". Apparently, her character gets some closure in the next season.

Sounds like Eleven may still be alive and Will is going to have some problems now that he's coughing up slugs and hallucinating he's back in the "Upside Down".

Finally got around to watching this show. Pretty good!

Season 2 the Hawkins lab should figure out how to feed the teenage girl a sandwich. Jesus, she's a skeleton.

Same here.

I did like the throw away line in the finale when the kids were playing dungeons and the quest ended. Dustin asked about all of the details in the quest that wound up having nothing to do with the ending and Mike basically tells him to forget about them.

There's your answer to most of the "loose ends" in the story.

I'd say the doctor's alive. He's not the type to fight, he'd have run.

Will now seems to be able to bounce between both worlds (and produce monsters?).

El isn't gone...entirely.

I'll tune in to season 2 if only to see the rich boyfriend's friends (the couple) get dismembered.

Damn. Super Mario Odyssey and Stranger Things Season 2 coming out on the same day. That weekend, I will be a zombie in the basement doing nothing productive.

Through episode 5 of this after getting Netflix on Xmas. So far it is a decent show. Strange to be sure but I like the kid actors.
I'm going to have some time this afternoon and will probably get through season 1 by no later than tomorrow morning.

Just finished Season 1. Great show. shot like a movie. Very Stephen King-esque.

Actually, like mixing E.T. with a Stephen King Book.

Great 80's throwbacks stuff, too.

True, the chic hairstyles back then for dudes were the Joey Lawrence bowl, the David Cassidy Feather (everybody wanted this look, but only some could nail it), or the permfro. Occasionally some kids had buzzcuts. lot of parts down the middle and side-comb action going on as well.

Spiked hair didn't come on until '86-ish, and later that led to the mullet.

Looks like he was trying to rock a Flock of Seagulls-DuranDuran-type thing tho.

Wife and I have been binge watching this... about 4 episodes in on season 2.
Pretty good. 1st season certainly better than the 2nd but it's kind of mindless fun.
