Once you know you won’t have the worst advice in the thread you can start winging it with suggestions.

So does fast food in the pictures.

Grilled or fried. Only way to fly.

Fried food is nasty.. You gotta admit Bagels is the dummy who doesn't know the capabilities of the crock pot.

I have one
I've used before, I know how to operate it and I'm aware of its capabilities
I don't want to eat chicken wings cooked in a crock pot, other than microwaving them or maybe boiling them it sounds like the least appetizing way possible to cook them.

Microwaving is the least appetizing, if chicken is rubbery it's way over cooked. I cooked shrimp in the crockpot last week..outstanding

Bagels is a bitch, who cares what he thinks.

Anyways, oven baked wings are fine. Just make sure you coat them in seasoned flour and brown them in a skillet first.

Transfer them to the oven with whatever sauce you like. I like to cook them in Frank's Hot Cayenne sauce and butter (I'm not a buffalo fan but they have that flavor too).

Properly grilled wings are top notch. My wings are the best, believe me.

Ovens are for baking and cooking when you’re too lazy/stoned/drunk to cook properly.

Ovens are perfect for braising in a cast iron dutch oven. Glorious.

Baking can work well with the right method. Butter and red pepper sauce is a good one. Par bake the naked wings, then toss in sauce. Then bake some more. Then toss in sauce, then bake at high temp to caramelize and crisp.

What the hell do you think Buffalo sauce is?
It's literally Franks Hot Sauce and butter.

In Franks case it's probably best if he just brings them and lets someone else cook them.

If you do cook them in the oven, they can benefit from being put on a drying rack in the fridge overnight -- that takes some of the moisture out of the skin so it will get crispier than it normally would. Broil mode is better than bake mode, but more likely to overcook too, so depending on how drinky you are at the time, you may want to adjust your recipe.

To me, the best non-fried wing would be one that was smoked on Saturday, air dried overnight, and then finished in the broiler. And while you are broiling, you can eat a Hershey's Kiss to warm up your tastebuds.

I made some wings in an instantpot a few weeks ago just to see how they were. They sit on a rack and not in the slop at the bottom so it actually worked fairly well. I broiled them for 3-4 minutes to crisp up the skin afterwards and they were pretty good. I know you can make them in a crock pot but thats going to be a slimy mess of crap. I like them on the grill or the smoker but im not dealing with that shit (charcoal) when its 0 out like it was a few weeks ago.

Oh and the cocoa powder is legit. I throw a spoonful of that in with some hot sauce and half a stick of butter and I've got a legit sauce if I'm going for the wet sauce wings as opposed to just the dry rub.
