Oh, I enjoy many of them, but not as much as many good cheesesteaks, or Italian subs from Bari or Damatos

It took 10 years but Regular Reader finally espoused a crazier opinion than “Bart Starr was overrated.” “Italian beef sandwiches are overrated” is an all time bad opinion my man.

And both are as overloved here as is the Italian beef sammich.

Over loved for emphasis.

Stop. Just stop.

They are both great. So are Eye tie subs. Cheesesteak is good but it simply doesn't have the flavor of a beef. Beef can stand on its own without condiments. Cheesesteak MUST have the enhancements.

Of which condiments do you speak? Onions? Cheese? Only savages denigrate those to condiment status.

A cheesesteak around here is just meh. Getting it from a good place in the Philly area (not the tourist stops) is very good. I even threw some ketchup on there one time so I would look like I knew what the Philly folks were all about.

Agreed. Hungry Hound had a rundown of Philly steak places in the city. There is one in Lincoln square I would like to try

Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust was my go-to hangover meal back in the day.

I don’t think I’ve had a stuffed pizza in years besides the Frozen Lou’s my brother in la brought out a few months ago. There was a place out here that I got deep dish from for years but it’s been a while. They do a decent job really.

Belluccios’s in Sheffield. I’m not saying it’s spectacular but it’s more “real” than the other options out here. Their normal pizza skimps on the sauce.

Yes. For several years now. Maybe 10. They ran two locations for a while but parents retired and only one kid wanted to stay involved. Kid is probably late 30’s by now.

Yeah, there's pretty much nothing in Tiskilwa. Beautiful area, though.

You’re right, it was Alfano, maybe Alphano, can’t remember. If I tried spelling current owner’s name it would look even more made up.
