Did you see the cutaway where the "sideline reporter" (not sure what she would be called in golf) did the math on the attendance figures?

The numbers were all wrong for the weekend, which then led to her math being WAY off. It was kinda funny.

I barely watched today. I saw the last 30 minutes or so.

I saw the math thing. Indeed it made no sense. I think it left Jim Nantz's head spinning too.

5:40 left in the college BBall game as Golf channel ends their coverage at 1:45, let's see how long this takes. It's also 55-56  college basketball sucks.

At least Rickie will be able to make his shoot tomorrow (who schedules a shoot the Monday after a tournament?).

Chez now the only one that can make this finish a little dramatic.

This Reavie guy has what can only be described as an odd body type. He's not fat, but he has what looks like average body fat on hips/torso the size of a guy 6-8 inches taller. His arms/shoulders/chest all look normal for his size.

Chez puts it in the fairway off the tee; Woodland finds the sand.

Guess who wins?

TaylorMade's new M3/M4 drivers have now been in the bag of the last 5 winners. I'm not one for heaping praise on equipment for winning tournaments, but that's pretty significant.

Any idea what changes were made from the M1/M2?

From what I understand, this new crop of drivers come with TM's new "TwistFace" technology, which utilizes convex and concave contours on the face to limit the damage of mis-hits, I think.

Correct.

The face technology is TaylorMade's take on the "bulge and roll" concept that Cobra has been using for years. The club's heel is more closed while its toe is open. The whole concept is meant to emphasize the gear effect a golf ball will experience when hit on either of those areas of the clubface. Thus, the ball will spin back toward the center line.

That's interesting (says the guy who bought a M2 last fall).

Same troubles plaguing Tiger through Round 1 at the Genesis Open. He has no clue where it's going off the tee, and this is after two weeks off and a tournament where he displayed the same problems. No bueno.

He's played very poorly the last couple hours. Doesn't have it yet

He's playing in the Honda. At least he's out there playing instead of saying, "I need reps".

 You could build a golf course on the real estate TW takes up inside Frank's cranium.

Playing in back to back tournaments shows he’s finally healthy. A year ago he couldn’t get out of a bunker without wincing, so that’s the positive. The negative is that PGA National is a tough course with a lot of water. The goal should be to make the cut but he better get the driver figured out or it could get ugly.

Nice win for Bubba. I knew that he hadn't been playing very well the last few years but didn't know he had some kind of illness and
had lost all belief in his golf game. Could be a threat at Augusta again this year.

I really enjoy watching him play, right up until he gets to the green.

Self-taught swing, crazy ballflight, insane foot action - it's really something else to see.

I really haven't liked him because how much abuse his caddie has to take but he seemed to have
his emotions in check this week. I am sure playing well played a part in that. I agree that I do
enjoy watching his ball flight when they have the ShotTrak working. Never been able to
work the ball any way that I want. Have a hard enough time hitting it one way with any
consistency.

Yeah, his putting usually sucks and it's all his caddie's fault.

Yesterday was the first time I heard him thank his caddie and those around him. Maybe the last couple of years have humbled him a bit.

During the first two rounds, Bubba played with DJ and Adam Scott. On the very first hole on Thursday, DJ and AS hit straight drives down the left side of the fairway. Bubba lined up for a cut, hit the ball 40 yards right of the center of fairway, and cooked a low stinger right back to the end of the fairway down the left side. DJ just laughed and shook his head. Noboby can hit the shots that Bubba can.
