Was good for the Bears. One of the best draft picks in recent memory.

One of Jerry Angelo's only decent offensive draft picks.

Things never really took off for him when he left.

Very good player and nice guy. Got to meet him at a house party once. One of my ex-wife's best friends was very close
with him and from his hometown. Was sorry to see him leave Chicago but I think he made some nice dough in NY. Most
happy that he is getting out after 10 years and is still relatively healthy. Hope he finds a future role with the Bears if that
is something he is interested in.

15k yards is good enough for the HoF

I would normally agree but in this era with very few every down backs finishing in the top 3 to 5 in yards from scrimmage for MANY years on some really shitty offensive teams should help.

You may end up being right, but I purposely wouldn't put a lot of RBS in the Hall for that reason. They are somewhat interchangeable. The only easy one recently will be Adrian Peterson (and LT before that).

Forte was never the best at his position. He was versatile and good at everything but not great at anything. And terrible on the goalline.

Do you rank Frank Gore ahead of or behind Forte?

Gore is way ahead in my opinion. Gore is the 5th all time rusher. Forte is 33rd. And all the comparable RBs to Forte that also caught a lot of balls also were more prolific and had better stats - Marshall Faulk, Tomlinson, McCoy.

All I know about Forte is that Darkside in the old games chats had his critique down.

Too bad the podium is 7 yards away.

In an age where RB's seem to be interchangeable, he was a fantastic back. I always felt he was underrated.

He's not a HOFer.

He was never considered a top 3 back in any season of his 10 year career. Maybe the 4th or 5th best back in a given season.

Not an insult. But my standards for the Hall of fame are higher. He was good. He wasn't great.

I feel he did every part of the job right. Very good at all of them. Just never was quite fast enough for me.

Hall of the Very Good - Substantially better than many All Pros, but not HOF.

If he had played on some championship-quality teams and gotten a couple of rings, then maybe he'd be in the discussion for HOF.

Seemed like a nice man on top of it. It's a shame how he came in (many including me wanted to keep Thomas Jones) and that he couldn't play his entire career as a Bear.

That would make his 15k yards behind awful lines and bad quarterbacks even more impressive.
