Not because I'm offended they stopped selling ARs. Because I'm disappointed they decided to use this situation as a chance to gain publicity. They did this once before as well, some may recall. And quietly just sold them again when the noise died down.
Screw these guys. Only thing worth buying at a dicks was ammo anyhow.

LOL. Are you simply not aware of how emotionally pathetic the anti gun crowd is looking the past few days?

Look pathetic to what number of Americans? 25% of Americans own at least one gun. Out of the quarter of Americans, I'd say about half of them are sympathetic to ideas of gun control, to varying degrees.

So 12.5% of Americans view some large number of Americans as pathetic? Those 12.5% better get on the right side of history. The grandpappies of these current gun nuts also thought it was pathetic to support the rights of African Americans in the 1950's.

Gun ownership is more like over 40%.

I don’t know. I’m speaking for myself. A lesson others around here could learn.

OP used Dick's as a shoutout for ceasing to sell certain weapons and accessories to all customers.

Not accurate. They won't sell any firearm to anyone under 21 regardless of the laws. I think that's what he's referring to.

The highest number I see is 36%. The lowest was 22%. Let's call it 30% of Americans are gun owners.

The Laws don't say Dicks Sporting Goods are in violation with their new policy. Only a loose interpretation claimed by Widows Clipboard.

Fine. Agreed in the name of not wishing to argue semantics. The 42% number is households with guns. Not necessarily individuals owning guns. Agree that they're not precisely one in the same.

Would binnys be in violation of any laws if they refused to sell any liquor to anyone under 25 regardless of local law?

They're only in Illinois right? If so, perhaps not, as the age contingent of Illinois' covol rights law defines "age" as over 40. But barring that curious definition choice, I believe they would be, yes.

Right, but the original shoutout was for banning "assault rifles" (we'll see which guns they consider "assault rifles) and large magazines.

Then you have JLN railing against age 21 rule and people (which people nobody knows) stating private business

He's very skilled at turning threads into more excruciating experiences than the DMV.

Ok kirkwood... i understand what you're saying.
I think the thread is just evolving though... And it's an interesting sidebar.

I spent some time in Durham a few years back for a wedding for a friend of mine. There was this really nice bar downtown that only allowed in people 25 and over. I assumed it was to keep out the Duke bros and keep the place a little more classy.
