Good for Dicks -

Gotta say I think folks who think they need to own 2,12,20 guns are gonna be s.o.l. soon. Guessing in my lifetime we will see handguns and any military style weapon illegal in the U.S. and rightfully so. Hunters weapons (granpops rifle, shotgun) will still be legal own.

I know gun owners will cry from the mountaintop “they will take my gun when...blah..blah”. All good, They won’t round up the guns, just gradually get them out of people’s hands as they get popped by the cops on various other charges. Prospect of a Felony conviction and jail term will make sane folks give up something they don’t need without force.

"Military style weapon" is beta speak for "I dont know what the fuck I'm talking about. That gun looks scary. How does it work?"

GRANPOPs huntin' raffle is likely a semi automatic 30-06 or a bolt action. If its semi auto, its the EXACT SAME FIRE RATE as an AR 15. One pull = one bullet.

Bolt action...obviously (or, maybe not) one needs to physically rack a new round in order to shoot.

What you really want to ban - and please, you should know this if you're going to contribute on an issue like this - is the amount of rounds a magazine can carry. Or, as im sure you call it in front of your martini sipping foodie friends "a clip".

I bet you think the AR in AR 15 stands for "assault rifle".

IMO, SMART PEOPLE see a POTUS that isn't afraid to "shoot from the hip". That is why I advocated for a more mainstream center-right leaning candidate like Hillary, who most certainly wouldn't have gone to war with the NRA...but this is the path America has chosen.

Absolutely.
Now more so than when dicks did it.
Does LL bean even sell guns? I don't think I've seen ar15 in their catalog. I've seen scopes and safes... I don't think I've seen much in the way of firearms.

Does that apply to the Assault Rifle 15s?

Was anyone aware Kroger's sold guns? I've been in many Kroger's stores and never seen it.

Sunday grocery shopping trips would have been a lot more fun.

- Milk
- Eggs
- Bread
- 1000 rounds .556
- Apples

I guess we are learning that guns are so easily bought here that we don't even know all the places that sell them.

Aisle 12, just past the cat litter and dollar items.

Maybe glance at the posted articles?

Quote:
Kroger, the largest supermarket chain in the U.S., announced Thursday it will raise the age requirement for firearm purchases to 21 years old, the third major retailer to tighten such regulations in response to the deadly school shooting in Florida.
The Ohio-based company, which sells guns through its Fred Meyer chain at 43 stores across four Western states, cited the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as part of its rationale in announcing the move.

Quote:
Privately-held L.L. Bean has 37 stores in 17 states, but only its main flagship store in Freeport, Maine, has a license to sell firearms, according to records from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. It also does not sell any hunting rifles or ammunition on its website, although it does sell some accessories, such as rifle bags and gun lockers.

Is it about publicity...?
Yeah LL bean has only one store that sells some guns maybe and they're making a press release to change the age requirements.
Yeah. That kind of seals the deal.

It wasn't a press release. It was revealed via a tweet response. I'm not aware of any official announcement they made. Can't see any on their site, or social media posts.

Quote:
In response to a tweet from one consumer asking the outdoors retailer to change its policy, the Maine-based retailer replied late Thursday, "In the wake of this shooting we have reviewed our policy on firearm sales, and we will no longer be selling guns or ammunition to anyone under the age of 21."
