I stated the reason before: MANY posters are the type to call dissenters racist without actual evidence of racism because they want to discredit that person without engaging them.

I mean, you called me racist (or alt-right, maybe, don't remember) for saying you had no evidence that the Charlottesville attack wasn't a hate crime (which you didn't, and it ended up not being).

If JLN were racist he'd be telling us about all the black friends he has.

From what I can gather Reader wasn't called out on his BS very often before I came into my own around here. He doesn't react well to it, and just calls the person doing it racist.

I mean for the love of god, he thinks it's racist to think dual federalism is a good idea. And he's now your bastion of rationality on what is and is not racist?

This is a copout and a typical copout or go to move for racists, apologists for racists, or people that ignore racism. Not one time have you ever addressed some of the racist things that are said on here. Not once. Instead you choose reserve your ire for those that take offense to it.

The individuals that throw the charge around on here have specific reasons for doing so. When i issued the charge against Chas it was in response to him referring to me as a dumb South Side black Democrat. There were other times that i probably could have done and simply refrained from it.

Interestingly enough I have never had an argument with Steve about anything. You have levied the charge about me referring to people as racists on here all the time and its false. I repeatedly called Trump racist and that is because he is racist.

When you started posting regularly I initially thought that you were doing an Elmhurst Steve bit. The idea you call everything or people you disagree racist is laughable. I often feel like you go out of your way to be fair when discussing racial issues.

Regular Reader attended quality schools his entire life and he's been successful in a field that requires you to be challenged pretty much daily. The idea that he isn't used to be challenged is even more hilarious.

The attempt to paint us as overly sensitive black men that run around screaming "THAT'S RACIST!" is really pathetic. It's done to discredit and make it easier to dismiss our opinions and shield others from bad thoughts. Just like when Spaulding accused me of a lot of things that were inaccurate. How she interpreted my posts was more important than the actual things that were in them. Which was the opposite of what she accused me of doing. Facts don't matter if folks successfully turn you into a boogeyman.

I think people just need to step away from the board at times. Someone mentioned it earlier. Get outside and do something else. I never post on weekends here and pretty much only do it during work hours on a weekday. Management loves me!

But Nas mentioning people being driven away from the board is definitely accurate. There are clearly less people posting than I've ever seen, and much of what is posted is political now. I admit I am one who does post in the political threads, but once a huge back and forth debate starts, I usually just stop. It's not worth it.

My favorite threads are the ones everyone can agree on - Dicaro, Quad City Pat, etc. Those fun threads are not as prevalent as they used to be compared to everything now. I think Trump has polarized the board to a great extent. People need to relax and enjoy life more!

When I call you fragile I do it to explain why you have such bad thoughts. Trust me, discrediting your desire for the United States to turn into South Africa doesn't take a whole lot of doing when the audience is people who are even loosely tethered to reality. I am just saying its your over sensitivity that makes you believe there is something so fundamentally wrong with the United States, even though there really isn't.

Sadly, of course, most of the US population has severed all ties to the sane world. So shit like that does seem to resonate more than it has in the past.
