i said "type"

Gold gloves are about politics, and ironically it is an offensive award.

Crede should have won one, their is not a finer third sacker with the leather in The Leagues not named Rolen.

I don't see Minnesota being very tough this season for some reason, despite very little change in their roster.

Maybe they didn't lose a lot of players, but they lost Hunter and Santana. Losing 2 guys of thier caliber drastically changes a ballclub.

Bottom line is, they lost their best pitcher (and he would be the best pitcher on any roster in the majors) and your best hitter can't be portryed as anything other than you will lose 8-10 games in the standings on that alone.

I'm not sure I would consider Hunter as their "best hitter".

Me neither, but he was their best overall player.

Substitite "best hitter" for "most consistently productive hitter for a long time and a perrenial thorn in Kenny Williams' side hence his willingness to throw $75 million at him" and it should read fine. Remember that play a season or two ago when he blew up the catcher? Can't recall if that was AJ, THall, or who but that was a hell of a play...

buerhle being the ace that he should be will make the sox a lot better immediately, and if they can keep pace, they will definitely contend for the division. the line up will go dry at times, but if you have a guy who can shut down for 7 innings, you have a great chance to win...

...out, OUT rick sutcliffe...OUT...the power of christ compels you!

ah that's better.
