I don't want him to be fired. I want him to be clipped in a very public manner to discourage others in the future. He is kind of entertaining when he performs his niche programming in the context that his bosses do not consider it mainstream, kind of like a golf or outdoors show

Being moved to middays is a bit of a clip. Be interesting to see how he reacts to that on air.

Can't wait.

I think it is much more than a bit of a clip. I wrote that before news came out that he was being busted down to mid days. That is a major demotion for a guy who has held afternoon drive for what seems like a decade, especially in light of it occurring so soon after Boers left. That is a vote of no confidence in him by management and I would think there is a strong possibility of him not seeing a next contract.

Bernstein can't talk about it until tomorrow but he said he is "good, really good".

Bernstein just wants to make his bosses money and he's going to do that. Time for a new and improved Bernstein!

He was in afternoons for about 12.5 years, and I agree that a new contract feels unlikely. They'll burn off this one with "The Dan Bernstein Show" in middays and then he's national.

B&B were in 2-6p before going 1-6p in 2009, right? He's got more than a decade of mostly success in afternoon drive, and he's undone that in about a year. That's a pretty hearty demotion.

EDIT: CH has the goods, as usual.

This plan of action works for me. Everybody needs to move on. They've needed to move on since Terry shuffled away.

He didn't really undo anything. The new show didn't work. This is his do-over. He'll probably be ready to jump up with Parkins when Mac gets bored with sports radio again.

They were in middays between Murph & Fred and North & Buffone, then between North & Fred and Telander & Buffone, and then when the Telander show fell apart in late '05 they got promoted to 2-6, then went to 1-6 in '09 when Mac came in.

Jason chose a poor mentor. It is Bernstein who has rearranged the ethos of the station.

Dan is the one who deserved the demotion.

You blame Jodie Foster for Reagan getting shot, too?
