I think he can do well but in a different market.

His style is more eastcoast and paired up with the right partner he can do really well.

He can also succeed solo too like in Atlanta. And I’m not saying that because he’s black. It’s that there are a lot of markets that his social voice would play well too along with sports.

L.A. is another market I think he would succeed well in.

LA sports talk radio is so gimmicky and over the top there is no way in hell he'd succeed there.

we have friends who live outside who was a big chicago sports guy, he said it was some of the worst radio he'd listened to in ATL.

i don't doubt there is some market where this might be good radio but its not going to be solo and its not a large market.

He can probably go back to the Sirius NBA channel, he apparently was able to support himself in Chicago with whatever they were paying him, and got to do the show from his place.

Though he would certainly add some diversity to the WMVP lineup, I don't know how his style would go with the ESPN/Disney format, especially since they are trying like hell to not make it seem as though MANY of their personalities are just itching to call the listener/viewer a racist. This might be the end of the line for him in the Chicago market, at least for awhile, ironically, like Mac.

I sometimes listen to LA radio and only reason I think it’ll work is lot of African Americans make up the listenership there. Which I think Goff s social topics can take off.

Though that Mac guy probably wasn't in for the long haul as I think he became a head pro at a golf course or something.

True. Goff knows a bit about the NBA. His style is grating though. Small samples are best.

Like you guys said, ESPN 1000 is out for Goff.

Hood isn't on much. Probably less than Larry at the SCORE and Larry isn't on much. I'm talking about the regular hosts.

Hood is on 4-5 times a week at 3 hours a clip..he calls games too. Way more time than Larry, Hood wood tell his boss to get his head fucked if he was asked to do 15 and 20 minute shows like Larry does.

He was never suited to be a full time host, particularly in the afternoon slot in a major market. I think that was pretty obvious by his interviews, his rambling/laughing, etc.

I feel bad because I think he became a monster that he thought Bernstein wanted him to be. But I don't think he was that monster when he first came to the SCORE.
