Pretty safe to say the midday show will feature a neutered sportsy Dan being as sports serious as possible. It will be the Dan Patrick show sub Dan. Gone will be the drops, the Friday Fung bits and Bob from Niles. As someone who loved the weirdness of B and B, I realize today's changes signal much more than the end of Jason, they signal a complete forced paradigm shift for Dan and the way his shows provide content.

They're going to pair him w/ Julie, which will result in the same thread being created every day by Beardown. So I don't see much change.

Julie can barely read copy, and when she does host, she has no real ability to vocalize a thought. I don't think she's uninformed or a bad person, but her radio career has always felt like too much, too soon. Pairing her with Dan for "Score Trump Talk Middays" would be the ratings equivalent of a crater.

Terry being allowed to do the majority of shows from home was the killing blow to the show, really. Of course the man was aging and would check out eventually, but giving Terry the ability to sit in his den and check out of doing a show, and Dan the ability to pilot a show with Terry checked out over the ISDN, hastened the arrival of Peak Bernstein.

I think Bernstein evolved a little before then. He was doing the anti-white people thing ("They're going to face more challenges in this society than ever before and I. Love. It.") for a while before that, and the de-testicalled Terry was already saying "Yup. You know, it's . . ." But yeah, then Dan became a hero and so many people texted and emailed him thanking him for being their voice.
