They'll give White one more shot before they have another run with Wheaton.

White will probably have to make it out of camp. Fighting for that bottom spot against a guy like Bellamy who sadly has an edge. Could be in the same lump as perhaps a Dontrelle Inman (should he return) or a rookie.

Wheaton I'd have no qualms about keeping, but I'm guessing the draft may determine his fate.

@MikeGarafolo

CB Prince Amukamara is close to a deal to return to the Bears, source says.

Good, he was solid last year.

Fuckin’ A. I’m not going to dwell on the lack of interceptions as long as WRs have some difficulty getting open. It’s like criticizing Bruce Bowen for not getting enough steals - meanwhile, he is draped all over his man. Just stick to your assignment and don’t get burnt for huge gains. Picks are an added bonus. Staying healthy is the obvious battle here.

I guess it makes sense for the Bears to keep Fuller and Prince. With the safeties we are ok. M&H just told me a stat I did not realize until this morning. Last year the Bears only gave up 100+ yards to a WR once. Antonio Brown. That works.

The question is...are they now better than GB and Minny? I think they are better than Det now.

Kwiatkowski is younger, cheaper and has more potential. I think there's a pretty decent chance they are looking hard at NaVarro Bowman. Same way age scared people off Calais Campbell, who had an MVP season, the Bears could strike gold there. Bowman's not as good as Campbell, but there's a ton of value there.

The only position I know for sure they wont attack with 1.8 is QB. By signing Robinson, Burton and Gabriel they have strengthened receiving enough that they can use later round picks on that. They can go any direction now, their pick is almost impossible to predict.

Josh Bellamy too might be gone. That'd be the end of the team pariah.

They need to draft a WR and sign 2 or 3 undrafted wideouts. White n Bellamy can not make the team, huge failure by Pace if he can't find 2 guys to beat those busters out in camp.

White is going to look like an All-Pro in shorts and Nagy/Helfrich wont be able to cut him. Then he'll snap his leg in the 2nd quarter of week 1 and we can move on with our lives. I agree, they should look to draft to get another WR but White is going to make this team. He's a near-lock.

Aaron Lynch in on a 1 year deal. Consider this a 5T signing but he may move around. A Fangio guy.

Added P and ILB since the Bears are shopping for a new punter and the Christian Jones departure leaves them pretty thin at ILB. Pace doing some good work so far.

Aaron Lynch is still young, brings good size & length. Also had his best year under Fangio. Nothing more than a rotational piece for the time being but someone who could end up being a long-term solution if he recaptures his 2014 production.

Still bummed about Christian Jones. Like the Lynch signing and would like Eric Reid.

Scratch P off the FA need list

Bears Re-Sign P Pat O’Donnell
March 15th, 2018 at 6:28pm CST by Dallas Robinson
The Bears have re-signed punter Pat O’Donnell to a one-year deal, tweets Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. The pact is worth $1.5MM, per Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.

O’Donnell, 26, has spent his entire career in Chicago after being selected in the sixth round of the 2014 draft. Last season, O’Donnell managed 39.7 net yards per punt, which ranked just 24th in the league. As a unit, the Bears ranked second-to-last in Football Outsiders‘ punt rankings by giving up 12.3 points.

Both the Eagles and Giants reportedly expressed interest in O’Donnell before he re-upped with the Bears

If the Lions find a RB and Rogers stays healthy, the Bears will have a tough time making it out of the cellar the next 3 years.

@RapSheet
The #Bears are matching the #Packers’ offer sheet for CB Kyle Fuller, sources said. Fuller stays.

Why wouldn't Ryan Pace wait 5 days to announce this? You would keep the Packers in limbo and it's possible that other FA options would dry up between now and then? There was no advantage for the Bears for announcing this immediately.
