Murph was offered evenings and weekends too. You think Jason will accept such a clear demotion? He can't even accept Twitter eggs disliking LeBron.

No, not just you, he's one of those people who looks generic enough that he can do that. Only the butt chin brings all his pictures together.

I think that is because he gets punched in the face every day.

Wow Feder taking a shot at Goff. He always prints the best reader comment in the DH. Look at this one at the end of that:

"Tuesday’s best comment: Frank Kurtz: Hopefully, with the sidelining of Jason Goff, WSCR is realizing (like we can only hope ESPN will someday) that people watch and listen to sports programming for the sheer enjoyment that sports brings them. People follow sports to be entertained, not to be lectured to about social justice. There are plenty of stations that cover that topic. It’s simple. I don’t watch Fox News to find out how the Cubs or Blackhawks are doing, and I don’t expect to be subjected to SJW [Social Justice Warrior] lectures when I listen to sports programming. Everything has its proper place and time."

Being punched in the face by the homeless turns you into Rorschach . It is known.

Can't they kill his contract then? I have seen in the past companies will make a guy on the outs sit in an empty office just to make them break the contract.

Yeah, that choice isn't accidental.

Hoping Spiegs finds his way back into the fold somehow.

Jason deserves a great deal of responsibility for letting the racists get to him, but he simply followed Dan's lead. Ever since Penn State, the afternoon show completely lost their identity. We're in a "stick to sports" era of broadcasting, for sure, and a lot of uncomfortable white bigots are certainly more empowered than ever to bitch about securing sports from the criticism of a liberal medium, but for this demographic, they let Bernstein and the afternoon slot become this really untamed mess that put sports way too frequently in the background.

Yes, too much serious radio. But some is not a bad thing.

This Frank Kurtz joker...can stick to watching Hannity and die. He's obviously a racist or at least a racial bigot. Bernstein definitely drove the social commentary, Goff was along for the ride. Singling Goff out is a completely ignorant position.

The comments are priceless....please tell me some were trolling?

The one thing I will agree with is Bernstein got a pass and he's just as much to blame. His contract, however, is likely a tougher pill to swallow. I'd like to think that he's been put on notice....dropped to midday and the message of "knock off the SJW radio" is pretty clear. I'll be curious to see how he responds. Maybe he'll move on to something more meaningful all on his own.

I spend a lot of time in Dallas / Fort Worth. Their FM sports station "The Ticket" seem to have no problem talking a small share of hockey, a small share of NBA, a good amount of baseball, with the NFL and Cowboys being the #1 coverage. No preaching, no real politics. It's decent radio and the hosts seem to keep a pretty decent sense of humor. What a concept.

I think this is a swift kick in the nuts to Bernstein. He's never been nothing but king shit and now he's fallen out of favor. Just as his kids are going to be heading to college. you know his next contract will suffer. he will likely change his ways. He will never be "the man" at WSCR again.

This is the key. You have to cover the Penn State story. You have to cover the kneeling national anthem story. You dont have to dedicate segment after segment to them. Give it its time and move on.

What a fucking snowflake. So this guy watches Fox News so he can listen to them hammer their bullshit, but god forbid someone expresses a different political opinion than his own on a local radio show. This is what the world is coming to. A complete joke.

And with something like the kneeling, you should be able to understand why a lot of people- many of them black, by the way- don't like it, rather than just screaming, "OLD WHITE RACIST!"

I'm fine with that sentiment, but the guy expressing that thought in the comment above only wants them to "stick to sports" because the hosts are saying things he disagrees with. If Bruce Wolf was hosting a sports show, I'm sure Frank Kurtz would have a different opinion.

They certainly don't have to "stick to sports" all the time. In fact, it would be terrible if they did. But the foundation of the shows on a sports station should be sports. That's not hard to figure out. I can understand a dope like North not grasping that the world isn't interested in his political views, but I expect more from a guy who graduated from Duke. It's ego, pure and simple.

Stick to ___ usually means "i dont want to hear something I disagree with"

But saying sports radio should stick to sports is one that actually makes sense, imo.
