Jason deserves a great deal of responsibility for letting the racists get to him, but he simply followed Dan's lead. Ever since Penn State, the afternoon show completely lost their identity. We're in a "stick to sports" era of broadcasting, for sure, and a lot of uncomfortable white bigots are certainly more empowered than ever to bitch about securing sports from the criticism of a liberal medium, but for this demographic, they let Bernstein and the afternoon slot become this really untamed mess that put sports way too frequently in the background.

The one thing I will agree with is Bernstein got a pass and he's just as much to blame. His contract, however, is likely a tougher pill to swallow. I'd like to think that he's been put on notice....dropped to midday and the message of "knock off the SJW radio" is pretty clear. I'll be curious to see how he responds. Maybe he'll move on to something more meaningful all on his own.

I spend a lot of time in Dallas / Fort Worth. Their FM sports station "The Ticket" seem to have no problem talking a small share of hockey, a small share of NBA, a good amount of baseball, with the NFL and Cowboys being the #1 coverage. No preaching, no real politics. It's decent radio and the hosts seem to keep a pretty decent sense of humor. What a concept.

Yea, the stick to ____ are the biggest snowflakes of all, but it's also a fair point on sports radio.

I'm fine with that sentiment, but the guy expressing that thought in the comment above only wants them to "stick to sports" because the hosts are saying things he disagrees with. If Bruce Wolf was hosting a sports show, I'm sure Frank Kurtz would have a different opinion.

They certainly don't have to "stick to sports" all the time. In fact, it would be terrible if they did. But the foundation of the shows on a sports station should be sports. That's not hard to figure out. I can understand a dope like North not grasping that the world isn't interested in his political views, but I expect more from a guy who graduated from Duke. It's ego, pure and simple.
