When you have a young son to support, are in your mid 40's and are about to get married I don't think you have a whole lot of wiggle room to be an ass about it. This not an industry where its smart to be a problem child and burn bridges. That said, I think its genuine.

No. He wasn't that good and had a bad attitude until they got Parkins in here and after about 3 months he realized that his job was next to go if he didn't get in line.

It's not admirable that he eventually treated Parkins well once he finally got it through his head that Parkins was a key part of the future with or without him.

Now he can pretend he "becomes" the Beatles full time.

That's not true. In November of 2016, Spiegel & Goff were 1st in middays in the key demo.

And in the Fall books of 2015 S&G were 2nd in the key demo with a 5.1 and easily beating the WMVP competition, who had a 3.8.

Spiegel was a ratings success (though not as dominant) years before Parkins arrived at the station.

So, BRick, if Spiegel performed well in the ratings before Parkins' arrival, and performed even better with Parkins, what exactly justifies Spiegel's ouster?

The winter book found The Score ahead of their market competitor ESPN 1000 in a number of categories. Among Men 25-54 in the M-F 6a-7p demographic, The Score finished nine tenths of a point ahead of ESPN 1000. One year earlier they trailed their competitor by two tenths of a point. In the M-F 6a-7p demographic a similar story occurred. 670 finished a little more than a point ahead of 1000. Last year at this time 1000 was six tenths of a point ahead. In the head to head battles, The Score gained wins from Mully and Hanley (7.5, 1st) over Golic and Wingo (3.2, 13th) in mornings and Spiegel and Parkins (5.1, 4th) over Kap and Company and 1-hour of Carmen and Jurko. I’ve said it before but I disagree with those attributing the changes to ratings or personality differences. IMO, Speigel’s attitude wasn’t the reason he was booted. DeCastro wanted his 2 guys in the prime time lineup and Goff and Speigel were the victims of a numbers game.

The victims are the American People and the Republic itself.

Then why bring in a chode like McDoink?
