Welp, my daughter turns 18 in September. I will get three votes now. I have filled out my wife's ballot for several decades. And my son is less than two years away. When I was younger, my district turned Blue with Beane. And now it looks like Roskam may get popped off. So it doesn't really matter....

My ex-father in law used to try and control the way my ex and I voted. She used to kowtow to it. I used to vote the opposite of what he wanted us to...even if I liked the candidate. That used to piss me off to no end. I think the 08 election indirectly contributed to my divorce.

I started college at a school next door to where she went to school. She is a bit older than me so our paths would have never crossed. However, the upperclassmen used to tell me the legend of Trinity Pub Night. Every week (I think it was Thursday) Trinity would open up as a bar in one of their student centers. It was supposed to be Baccanalian. Trinity is an all women's school and in a corner of DC where you wouldn't have ventured out socially without an escort back in those days. When the boys were invited in the fun began for that one night. It was shut down before I arrived. It was certainly there when she was in school
