Of course it matters. It’s an important factor to take into account. Y/A is another important stat. MANY others are too.

If Mitch learns to throw from the pocket he will be fine. If he continues to need to leave the pocket to make throws/read the field then he is going to be bad and broken.

If Pace drafted Watson he would be getting eviscerated in this thread.

And give me a fucking break with Mahomes. At least (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky played.

Watson was the no brainer pick @ QB, Mitch wouldn't play over Alex Smith..Mahomes took his job.

Mahomes is a pretty big unknown right now. This is kinda nice though:

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky made a better throw in his first preseason game and made similar throws during the regular season.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky made better plays with regularity against actual NFL defenses outside of garbage time. Get this shit out of here.

Look up his Ravens highlights, an actual team that was giving a shit. He makes 5 plays in that game alone better than anything Mahomes did all year. If were just looking for flashes of talent (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has countless.

I watched that game. He had some nice throws, particularly the one late to Wright. He didn’t have 5 passes better than that Mahomes one.

You should watch more. Throwing on the move is what he did best. In fact he looked as good as Rodgers when it came to arm strength and accuracy.

The problem with next year's team is they are going to be soft.

Fuller is getting $20M this season. This is our Mike Glennon signing.

Sheesh, the Jimmy Graham contract and Fuller offer sheet does not give me good vibes about the new Packers GM. Pace really bailed Gutekunst out of another terrible signing.

My offseason grade right now is a D+. The Fuller signing and miss on Pouncey hurt a lot. Not a huge fan of the Gabriel signing either, I feel like they've missed out on a lot of their targets.

Very happy with Robinson, if not for him it'd be a solid F with the only positive move being the Burton acquisition.

I dunno, this hasn't been a big year in general for FA. Pace did a solid job with what it has been tho -I don't think there are any teams in the league that are jumping for joy over this years FA class. Pace went out and addressed a huge need in signing one of the top 2 WR's and then turned around and decided to retain both our starting DB's after they had solid seasons -and they're both still relatively young too.

I'm not crazy about anything I've seen so far, but that's not Paces fault. There just weren't a lot of major players hitting the open market this year.

Also America, I still think Pace plans on trading up to get Nelson so Pouncey would be pointless with that in mind.

I hope I'm wrong, but it's what my gut is telling me.

I give Pace a C+. Giving Fuller $20M for 1 season really hurts his grade

Pouncey at center, Cody at RG and Nelson @ LG..thats how you build a line.

Pouncey signed w/ the Chargers, so that particular dream is no more.

So, signing a player no longer playing at the same level he was a few years ago, turns 29 before the season starts, and may be a locker room cancer is the way you'd build a line huh? Not to mention moving a younger player in Whitehair who is fine at center, drafting a player in the top 10 of the 1st round at a position you can still find plenty of quality for in later rounds, and.. doing what exactly with Kyle Long who the Bears are tied up with anyway (correct me if I'm wrong there)?

I don't like your plan tbh.

It's not that I think Pouncey is a bad player per se, but he also isn't some game changer here either. And linemen age differently in the NFL so I'm willing to bet his best, healthiest days are going to start getting further away from him. As for Nelson, I'm sure he'll be a fine player -but you can get starting quality (or better) Guards in later rounds. Trading up to get one (something the Bears will almost certainly have to do sitting at 8 ), means you have to give up assets you're already short on as it is. And when you're into the 4th year of your rebuild that should have actually started.. 4 drafts ago -I don't think it's a great idea.

I think you go young, and into the 2nd 3rd rds (hoping the Bears can trade down and aquire some picks) and let a young line grow and play together with its young QB. Nelson isn't all bad in a scenario like this but I think you can maximize your value in later rounds at his position, while scooping up a WR early or something along those lines too.

To me, in this situation -that's how you 'build a line'. Pouncey -like Suh on the D-line- fits better in the 'ready to win now' category than a 'ready to rebuild now' category. Of course, we still need tackles that are better than the ones we have tho too.

I'm not buying this Bears hype until I see results on the field and the team stays healthy. Pace is putting all his chips in a rookie head coach who wasn't an offensive coordinator and a QB who's QB rating was only 1 point higher than Mike Glennon's.

Supposedly they went after Malcolm Butler. I would have preferred they pay him than Kyle Fuller.

Pouncey is a stop gap for 2 years, I don't think Long is ever going to be healthy or decent.

I want Nelson badly on this team, he'd be our best lineman by seasons end.
