Let’s not get it twisted. I remember Hakeem. We’d have to go back years for some of the threads but iirc, RPB and I were the only ones who had Hakeem as a top 10 overall player of all time. I think he’s close to top 5. I remember Hakeem, and I have yet to see anyone as good as him.

I’ve watched tapes comparing both players, and I just watched that one. Hakeem was undoubtedly better.

Embiid has potential to dominate this league. I’m not denying that. But being a superstar means doing it every single night. Dropped 30 tonight? Cool. Now do it again tomorrow night. I need to see that from Embiid before I can call him a superstar and compare him to all time greats.

Is that fair?

You don't remember Akeem though. Either way he isn't a top 5 player. He isn't even a top 3 center.

and Embiid is??? Bite me

You are saying that Embiid won't have the career that Akeem had. WHo knows if he will or won't? I'm saying that he has some Akeem in his game. It is obvious that he does. Don't know what you are arguing and neither do you.

Nikola Jokic just recorded the fastest triple-double in NBA history (14:33).

Previous record was 17 minutes back in 1955 by Jim Tucker.

30-17-15 3-3 from the 3 point line.

That’s just fuckin sweet.

The Joker is terrible defensively. Absolutely terrible. No lateral movement at all. They have already had to resort to offensive for defensive switches with him late in games. That is never a good sign.

Embiid is a bonafide Franchise player. Joker isn't.

Remember when this was considered laughable (by message board standards). David Griffin former Cleveland GM just stated that during Embiid's draft workout he was Akeem Olajuwon. Stated that he had the best workout of any big that he'd ever seen.

what's laughable is you using the opinion of someone based on what they saw during a workout

I mean this in all sincerity. Do you know anything about basketball?

Guys get drafted off of workouts. If workouts didn't matter then GMs wouldn't conduct them. What's laughable is that you believe that its laughable.

Philly's ratings when Embiid's on the floor.

4th in offense

1st in Defense in the NBA.

That is what i call impact.

The Nuggets won't quit, and Jokic is finishing on a tear: 23.9 points, 11 rebounds, and six dimes per game since March 7, on 54/48/89 shooting --plus a clutch tip-in to seal a must-win over Minnesota on Thursday.

They are. Offensively he doesn't get you excited though. Really stiff and not a guy that you can give the ball to and tell him to get you a bucket. A little more work on his post game and footwork and that could change.

What?

This is all not true at all. He has one of the most fluid offensive games of any player in the league. His defense is open to criticism, but hes an awesome offensive player. Stiff is just about the last word that comes to mind when watching him on offense.

His defense stinks.

Offensively is one of the more skilled bigs in the game. He isn't dominant as an offensive player though. His back to the basket game isn't that good but as a floor spacing big and passer he is very good. Great passer.

He was thoroughly outplayed by Towns the other night in a very important game. Couldn't really do anything a few weeks ago either against Embiid.

He had 16-14-9 and the game winning basket.

Seems like you and Nas don't watch him much.

You didn't watch or you would know that was more of a guy whose box score numbers look good but he really only played well in the 3rd. Even then Andre Miller's 3 consecutive 3's turned the game around.

I actually watched the game. Apparently you didn't since you merely are quoting stats. He shot terribly from the field too.

Town had 26 13 and 4 by the way.

It's stiff in comparison to what we see today. Again he's not a guy that you can ask to get you a bucket. He's the 3rd best player on a championship team.

Before fouling out. Towns could literally do whatever he wanted to him.

Yes I did.

He's not a stiff offensive player. He moves very well and has great footwork. Great passer and ball handler, good shooter, can finish inside and cut to the lane. Of course you give him the ball and expect him to get you a basket. He's the offensive center piece in every way of the 6th best offense in the league. He's also gotten in a lot better shape as the year has gone on and should keep improving going forward.

You guys are nuts.

He moves like an older Sabonis. He is an excellent passer and a plus ball handler. A guy barely averaging 18 points when he has a match up advantage nearly every night isn't a great offensive player. You overrate what he is now.

A center who shoots 50/39/85 and averages 18-10-6 is a great offensive player. And he's only 23 and getting better. I have him rated just about right.

You don't have him.rated right if you think he is better than Embiid. Embiid avg. 23 and 11 and is in a different stratosphere than him defensively. Embiid is dominant defensively.

Jokic is the worst defending starting Center in the league. If not the worst then in the conversation for worst.
