Sportcoat approved. On the other hand, IMU is a regular at Fazoli's off of I-57 and he can just wear shorts.

That one place had a very good system for garlic, they used a razor and sliced it so thin....it would liquefy in the pan with a little oil. It's a very good system.

I'm going to guess G&G and Club Lucky are two of them? Along with La Scarola, they are the three on the list I've been to.

One of the best Italian restaurant in the city is still Ristorante Agostino on Harlem.

La Scarola, Bruna's, Club Lago, and Sabatino's. I like Club Lucky but I wouldn't put it in the same category. It's faux. I'm not a fan of G&G. I prefer Erie Cafe or even EJ's.

Yes, Agostino is pretty good.

Via Roma and Cafe Lucci are my regular suburban spots. Lucci has the best wine list in the northern suburbs. Bobby, my guy!

Topo Gigio? GTFO.

Gene and Georgetti's isn't really an Italian restaurant. It is a steak place that also serves Italian.

List sucks. Chicago has two Little Italy's and they seem to have found exactly one restaurant (Bruna's) on either. The 24th and Western Little Italy has 3-4 restaurants that should make the list and it is a travesty not to include Il Vicinato.

The Taylor Street Little Italy should have another 3-4 including Tuscany, the original Rosebud, Ro Sal's and probably even Pompeii.

Joe, I cannot believe you are not a Club Lago regular. It's your kind of place.

Their criteria was 'old school' italian. Rosebud and Pompei are hardly old school italian. If we're listing great italian restaurants, then RPM Italian and Siena Tavern get thrown in as well, and countless others.

That being said, 'old school' italian and supper clubs...pass.

I am a Club Lago regular. See my post above. We've even had a meeting of the Wisemen there. I love Lago.

Also, Bacchnalia is on the list, so two Heart of Chicago places made it.

Pompeii has been a family owned business on Taylor Street since 1909. How much older do they have to be? The only thing that might discount them from the list is that its cafeteria style eating rather than white table cloth.

They can't be that famous of an establishment if you cannot even spell their name correctly.

The list is about places that aren't famous.

Went to Bacchanalia last night. Would definitely recommend it, want to hit Bruna's next. It's kind of a boring walking neighborhood, if you like to walk off your meal. Dolphin, I would consider Tufano's as part of Taylor Street Little Italy.

Tufano's is my go to place. Good stuff.
