Great story but I hate all these talking heads saying this team isn't here by accident, that they were always for real, etc. They're not - they barely made it out of the first round. Then they needed another miracle against Tenn. Stop ruining the story with by projecting stupid thoughts onto what actually happened so far during the tournament.

This is a really stupid take. Just because you needed last second shots to advance doesn't mean you advanced by accident. They proved to be the better team in every game they've played. They deserve to be in the F4 as much as any of the other teams that advanced.

The history of the NCAA tournament is littered with teams that barely got out of the first round or barely got by a lesser opponent somewhere along the way. 1997 Arizona barely got by South Alabama in the first round. 1995 UCLA needed a coast to coast Tyus Edny layup to get past Missouri. And so on and so on.

Loyola is a great team and every bit as deserving of their F4 status as anyone else.

Ah the venerable Cleanthony Early! I think a few guys from Loyola will catch on in backup roles in the NBA, or at least get a cup of coffee.

No they won't. There's no NBA guys on this Loyola team, let alone of few of them.

A guy like Ingram, with NBA size and a 3 point shot will absolutely get some invites to NBA camps this summer. I retract my Butler comp as there is no stud like Haywood on Loyola but I stand firm on my Wichita State comp...

You're a retard who doesn't know shit about shit but has something to say about everything.

Ingram isn't going anywhere near an NBA team.

And that F4 Wichita State team had TWO NBA players including Fred Van Fleet who is one of the best players on the top team in the eastern conference this season.

Loyola doesn't have a single NBA player. maybe, maybe Custer can get some work overseas, but that's about it.

this team seems to have competed really well throughout the season and is that type of team that would do well in the tournament.

that said, neither michigan or loyola had to deal with any juggernauts to get to this game. i think michigan is better at all the things that loyola is good at but that means nothing. michigan can go cold for long periods of time.

i think its no blowout and while i'm a michigan fan, i think loyola wins.

ALSO. its not her fault. but i'm tired of this nun. its being run into the ground.

Correction

The 60-1 I quoted was for them to just make the sweet sixteen. For them to win it all at the system was 300-1. To win the region was 75-1 and there was at least one person who played big in Vegas to win it,1000 bet

There's a difference between "flukey" and "not as athletic", no matter how much Dan Bernstein would like them to be synonymous.

Loyola isn't as athletic or long as some of these teams, but they are just as good or better than most. They are very skilled basketball players who play very well together. There was a stat they mentioned the other day that 93% of their shots in the tournament had come from either in the paint or from 3-point land. That's incredible.

What's even crazier is that Custer was out for 3 of their 5 losses this year. This is a really good team.

They are pretty athletic as well. The only guy you see on the court for them who doesn't look like a smooth athlete is Krutwig.

I know they are not tall but look how they have frustrated teams defensively into relying on nothing but threes. They don't block shots but the ball just does not get inside the paint on them. On the other end of the court, as you mentioned, they seem to live in the paint against these taller teams. KSU was an elite defensive team and the Ramblers had no problem doing exactly what they wanted to do against them from the very beginning. Nevada had one of the tallest average heights in the NCAA. They didn't have 7 footers but everyone was tall, including their point guard. Loyola defended them well.

Richardson and Williamson both look like the kind of defenders you can put on anyone on the court.

When I see Sister Jean,I think to myself: "I wish the nuns who taught me were still around".

I'm a big fan of Sister Jean. Anyone who cracks negative about her can burn in Hell.

When a muslim faith based university produces a final four team and has a chaplain wearing traditional clothing we can test that theory. Oh, no we can't. Sister Jean is not wearing "traditional" clothing of a nun.

I don't understand the hate. It is three weeks of recognition for an old woman who really isn't seeking the glory for herself. If you don't like it, it ends this week and there is a very good chance she won't be back.

It's like hating Clara Peller

I love Krutwig, though. He's not athletic, but he is skilled for a guy his size. He plays bigger than his height, too.

Loyola should be very proud. Porter Moser is gonna love Xavier. This was beneficial for all parties involved. Great season.

Jason just fired the new Xavier coach.

This run was great for everyone, but obviously it would end at some point. Hope it helps in recruiting next year.
