I had not heard or read that here prior to Beardown posting his new conspiracy theory last night. In fact I believe everyone agreed that Goff was solely responsible for his firing. Maybe you are hearing something different in Pittsburgh.

To be honest I wonder about the dislike of basketball that exists on here. I'm sure that you do too or you wouldn't be asking the question. Of all the sports that are referenced it appears to be the one that receives the most vitriol. You never hear a hatred of baseball or football. Hockey maybe. Basketball hell yeah.

Its not basketball as much as its Pro Basketball. College is fine but the thought that there might be black millionaires out there appears to be too much for some apparently.

And your point about Kaplan being a basketball guy is laughable. Back in the day, he was. Now he is absolutely not. Listen to his radio show or watch sports talk live and see just how little non-Bulls related NBA talk there is. Shit when I was in my car and listened to him somewhat often, he talked more Blackhawks than NBA.

Bernstein and Goff put a bad show out. I think and this is just my opinion, that management realized that Bernstein wasn't as talented or good as they first realized. Goff should never been allowed to host a show in a major market.

Bernstein's star has faded also. Terry Boers was the true star and always has been. While Goff rightly targeted for his failings so was Bernstein.

LTG, did you ever consider that maybe we don't like the NBA because the games are simply boring with no stakes to them? There are probably only 3 legitimate, maybe 4 teams in the league with a chance to win. The rest of the league is either in NBA Hell and in denial about it, or they are flat out tanking and doing a bad job of masking it.

The NBA could probably fix its problems if they instituted a hard salary cap (I would argue baseball needs one as well)
