Cricket is more popular than football in the world. Yet, have we heard the Score discuss the ball-scuffing scandal by the Australian national team?? Hmmmmmm, interesting.

If there was a demand for national NBA talk on AM radio in Chicago, it would be talked about more. There isn't. So it's not.

The Bulls are irrelevant and that hurts interest. Until this year the Hawks were yearly contenders so that became the team people wanted coverage of.

Bernstein has tried to do national NBA talk with 2 different partners.

The usual theme, now mainly directed at Goff, that Larry's primary gimmick is accusing white people of being racist. Holmes being creepy towards white women was another common trope from back then IIRC.

You're stretching in calling the Derrick Rose Bulls "great", aren't you? Anyway, all those shows talked about Rose and the team that looked like it had an outside shot to beat LeBron. Of course, bernstein is going to talk more NBA than Mac or even Sir. The NBA is his favorite sport.

When the Bulls were great, Monsters and HFC talked Bulls basically all day after football season ended til June. It helped that the Bulls won championships.
