While we wait, do you prefer a chicken pot pie or a salisbury steak? I generally go for the steak as I feel the pot pie is a lot of calories but not really worth it as compared to the salisbury steak.

A good chicken pot pie is pretty satisfying. I’m not a beef gravy guy in general so have tended to stay away from Salisbury steak.

Chicken pot pie is one of those foods I never feel too excited about eating, but then I'm glad I ate it afterward. It's the opposite of Chinese takeout.

If I graded peas I wouldnt want them either. Neighbor got a load of pealage from the Mendota plant. It’s about the foulest plant based smell I’ve experienced. I don’t mind them for most part but Hair is right, pot pie is about the crust.

That's where I worked. Took a bucket of peas off every truck and put them in a press to test the quality for hardness.

Worked 6pm-6am six nights a week in the summers to pay for college. And that was a prime job. I could talk about the crappier jobs I had prior to that at Del Monte.

That is not an easy place to work. Even the "simplest" job is still a full 12 hour grind - especially on midnights.

I remember the shift notice announcements played over WAJK Radio throughout the day.

They always started and ended with that factory work whistle audio clip. It sounded like they were starting to play "Allentown".

Exactly. Doc, if you’re like I was your experiences with Salisbury steak were limited to school mystery meat or a frozen dinner...and yes those are terrible. However a good homemade version is sublime.
