Toss-up between 2010 and 2013.

Tell me if you agree with this breakdown: 2010 felt like it was for the (relatively speaking) old-timers, any of us who suffered through the dark ages and had to take shit for being a Blackhawks fan (or, JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT, spent nights in high school listening to home games on 670 hoping that the Arnason-Bell-Calder line and the additions of Phil Housley and Theo Fleury would lead the Hawks to glory). Personally, I was starting a relationship at the same time as the Stanley Cup and she became a hockey fan with me that spring (and then we dated for a year and change and I went to live in an Ozark shithole before her parents decided I wasn't good enough but hey in the meantime), and that feeling of getting to share something really cool like this was very nice. But by and large, that first year was for the serious hockey people like us.

2013, on the other hand, felt like it was for everyone to enjoy equally. The Hawks had re-established themselves on the scene, the lockout season was a buzzsaw, the roster was heavy on guys we'd watched grow up with us from the old class and the new one (Crawford, Saad, Kruger, Shaw, Leddy, Bickell), and when I think about my favorite moments from the dynasty, we find it here: in the heat of the moment, I never exploded in enthusiasm for any of the Cup wins the way I did for Brent Seabrook eliminating the Red Wings in Game 7 sudden death. 17 Seconds was close but no cigar. All-time favorite Hawks moment forever. I went to the parade that summer but my date cancelled on me and a girl from Antioch threw up on my shoes.

And then 2015 felt like it was for the younger fans, not that the old-timers had abandoned the Hawks by any means, but perhaps got jaded with one aspect of the organization or another: the skyrocketing ticket prices, the West Side Wrigleyville vibe, the shit performance on the ice too often, l'affaire Cheryl Scott, whatever. It was amazing when they won, lots of people loved it, but it didn't feel like it was for me the way the other two did.

It might have been cheesy as hell, but loved the Vegas intro with the Knight battling the King.

Very Vegas.

Also, awesome game.

Really?

Really?

With their "keep the red out" bullshit?

Such minor league shit from a minor league city.

They're not an interesting team in the least bit...it's as bad as watching late 90's New Jersey Devils hockey.

It just hit me that the Avalanche made the playoffs and we did not. It's a bad feeling.

They waited until the very end of the year to lose their goalie for the season.

Why is the Eastern Conference so penalty stupid in the playoffs? Anderson just completely fucked the Blue Jackets with that major boarding penalty that served no purpose at all. They have given up 2 goals in the 1st minute of the PP.

Avs hanging tough in the early going. I forgot their backup was Jonathan Bernier and not some AHL slug. Might not be a sweep without Varlamov after all.

Winnipeg is impressive. Buff just about murdered Koivu behind the net.

Dubnyk is giving Minnesota everything he's got and still it's not enough. This one's a real mismatch.

Flyers came to play and are being very sneaky with their cheap shots. 2-0 start of third.

Spurgeon picks an odd-man rush shot off Laine, but Byfuglien gets to it and feeds Stastny for the 2-0 goal with about 12 to go in the game. I feel a little bad for Minnesota; they've had this way of playing Jobber To The Stars (but not the actual Dallas Stars) for six years now.

EDIT: oh no wait they did get fed to the Stars that year Dallas finished first in the conference.

first 2 goal lead by either team in the Jets-Wild series...Jets go up 2-0 and feels like that's the series.

3-0 now.

This Jets team reminds me of the 2010 Hawks. Maybe CH knows what he's talking about when he's picking the Jets to win it all.

btw...this Patrick laine kid. .... I thought you pronounced it like Lane. Not Lee-ann. WTF is that. More PC bullshit.

I don't give a shit where his ancestors came from and how they pronounced the name. This is a North American sport, it should be pronounced LANE damnit!

These Jets remind me of the 2014 Kings: scoring depth up front, some shutdown in the back, but most of all no one will hesitate to run you over like a runaway train.

Dubnyk was 68/72 on the series before it all unraveled a couple minutes ago. If you can't salvage a split in front of a .944 sv%, and it appears they won't, then what exactly do you have left in the chamber?

Good to see ex hawk Buff. He's been there forever it seems now. Stayed in Winn from a crappy team to a contender.

You're right, no effort had ever been made to pronounce a non-anglophone's player correctly. That's why we had such beloved stars as Mario Lemmiucks, Gye Laffler, and Teemu Slann.

CH - what are you thinking about Winnipeg on the road. Minn looks pretty much dead. Any chance to make this a series?

Might be faster than that team but yeah, that is who they remind me off. Way more physical than any of the Bowman era hawks.

These fights are so dumb at the end of a game.
