There weren't enough survivors on either side before the fight began for this to be anything but a skirmish. I doubt there were more than 100 people on that field of battle even when combining both sides.

Yeah but ALL OUT WAR and nothing happened. A few weapons were damaged and a couple guys have some broken hands. I guess seaside killed a few guys with fire but thats about it. I was hoping for and expecting some thinning of the herd. Way too many main cast members diluting the story and making it hard to care deeply about any of them.

Oh and Jadis wants to be called Anne now and she doesn't talk like a sausage anymore.
Cool.

Even Morgan knows its BS. "I have to be alone now," it what he says. But what he really means is, "The group I was with is fucked and I have to get away from them now."

This thread reads like a Bernstein & Goff thread. Why are you all watching?

Maybe someday Jimmy DeCastro will get put in charge of AMC and just show Riflemen episodes in primetime.

Habit.

This will probably be the jumping off point for MANY though.

There are more story lines and main characters today than there were before the episode began. There are five villages (Saviors, Hilltop, Alexandria, Kingdom and Oceanside) with drama at each one. There is the creation of a trading league between them. Negan now needs development because they didn't kill him off. Another antagonist has to arise. There is a random helicopter floating around for an entire season that no one seems to care to investigate. Oh, and this is still a zombie show, isn't it (with so many unanswered questions regarding that subject)?

All of this would be cumbersome even in the hands of a skilled writer.

It did have the feel of a final episode of a series.

I enjoyed these last two episodes. They need to streamline the story and think about the characters more logically.

I thought it was a good finale. Was surprised and happy with Eugene's character redemption.

I'm guessing we'll get the 2 year time jump and there will be bad blood between Rick/Michonne and the Hilltop based on that final scene. Whatever conflict is going to happen between those two groups regarding Negan will have already happened and we'll be left with the aftermath and bad blood.

Rick should have never given that hormonal bitch the conch.

I'll bet he can get her to snap out of it by channeling Herschel, though.

Lauren Cohan looks to no longer be a show regular starting next season, so who knows what will happen.

I'm trying to quit this show. I like Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his portrayal of Negan though, so we'll see.

Of all the options for a third character, Jesus? That seemed contrived, at best.

Even knowing what was coming, it still sucked.

How could anyone like the character Rick in any way?

If that was one season it would have been pretty good to great. You can't have that ending after you stretch it out so far.

The only thing keeping me watching next year is if it is true that they are basically rebooting the show.

They also need to have an official ending date for the show. This last story arc needs to be the thing that ties up the story.

I didn't watch the after show. Did they talk about next season at all? Is there any confirmation that the Whisperers will make an appearance?
For all the build up I thought the episode was a dud but I am happy that they can move onto a different storyline. The writing leaves me very
suspect that even the end of this war will bring a better series.

We’re hearing that, by the end of Season 9 of AMC’s hit drama series The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes himself will be walking away. That’s right TWD enthusiasts, Andrew Lincoln will be growling his way through the post-apocalyptic setting for just one more season before calling it quits. And while we won’t be spoiling just how the series’ founding character makes his exit, we do know that fans can only expect to see Lincoln in half-a-dozen episodes of the upcoming season.

I'm sure studios will be beating down his door to give him work.

Why would any actor, but especially one who it took a long time to find success, walk away from a cash cow? Better to be wealthy and working than unemployed with a family that now has altered lifestyle expectations that you cannot meet.

Your generation coddles children.

It's all good though. Children's hobbies now are Fortnite 24/7 and that is F2P. Buy them a 32" curved IPS monitor and a sweet PC and they are set for the next few years. Just food and clothes after that.

I know you consider yourself young but we are most likely in the same generation, depending on how you define that. Sorry, gramps.

now being reported that Laura Cohen (Maggie) will be leaving the show six episodes into season 9, same time Rick is leaving. Daryl just received a massive pay raise and is slated to be the new lead on the show.

To summarize, no more Rick and Maggie and the guy running things is the guy who says an average of 2 words per episode.

Just cancel this shit, go out with at least a little dignity.
