Toews has been my favorite. I wanted CH to be wrong but he's not. I love toews, love love love him, always will. He fell off the last 3-4 years and can't recover.

There may be some truth to this but you can't just take their AMAZING Cup runs and then throw them away. Love them and Hate the NHL salary cap...and the no movement clauses they were granted.

I wish there was a way to build something around them but there are too many of them making too much money.

There is a lot of truth to it. Seabrook is 32 years old. He's in horrible shape. I feel like he did well got paid and went to shit quicker than I did and I don't have the resources, or need he does. Fuck him.

I still like Seabrook because of all he did during the cup runs. I still like him as a player too. Maybe a change in scenery will help him. I think he has a career year left in him.

Darryl Sutter and GM Dean Lombardi both got purged for missing twice in three years. Unlike the Q/Stan dissension we know so well, Sutter does whatever Lombardi tells him to, so both had to go.

If you take him away from those teams there are ZERO cups. I hate his contract and his current ability. I am hoping he and Toews get LTIR concussions. You could literally just make that shit up and go away and get paid.

You can't. But why do they get to try hard one year and crap it up the next few? Seabrook is infuriating at this point. So is Toews.

Give me a player like Hossa forever. I thought that would be toews, but he doesnt have the longevity.

Toews should retire. He has reached the highest mountains he will ever reach. Go be rich, famous, HOF, and relatively healthy at the age of 30 and beyond. Seabs should too but he is healthy as a horse and just wont go away.

Ironclad. Captain and #1 center of three championship teams, won a Conn Smythe, and rode along for two gold medals. His point totals and averages will be low but never so low as to keep one of most beloved Canadian players of a generation out of the Hall. He's not Mike Richards.

Of his similar players, Sakic, Robitaille, Sundin, Savard, Hawerchuk, and fa-la-la-la-la-la-LaFontaine are in. Kopitar, Zetterberg, and Backstrom will be in. Jeff Carter somewhere between maybe and probably.

Toews, Kane, Keith, Hossa, and Quenneville are all bound for the HHOF (which is a disused bank basement in Toronto). Kane when all is said and done will pass Chris Chelios for the greatest American player of all time, having already surpassed Mike Modano and Bryan Leetch.

The Seabrook contract was awful from practically the moment it was signed. HUGE mistake. The Toews extension was justifiable.

Parise "week to week"? with a fractured sternum for the Wild. Whatever slim hope game 3 gave Minnesota is riding the pine next to Parise the rest of this series. Tho I could see him coming back and trying it for a game 6/7, if the Wild can push it that far.

The guy the Wings chose in lieu of Hossa in 2009 ended up spending the vast majority of the 12 year contract he is still finishing up on LTIR due to concussions.

Quote:
Why did Ken Holland "choose" Franzen over Hossa?

This, as the idea goes, was one of Holland's biggest blunders. That he allowed Hossa to walk for nothing while holding on to a guy who has not scored 30 goals while being signed for an eternity is a black mark on an otherwise stellar resume. How could Holland not get a contract done with Hossa when both sides wanted him to remain a Red Wing even after a very disappointing end to the previous season?

It's not hard to wonder what could have been had Hossa stayed in Detroit. I would bet a large amount of money that Chicago wouldn't have a Cup and the Wings would still be a legitimate Cup contender with a talent like Hossa on Datsyuk's wing (stop crying).
https://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2013/ ... blackhawks

Criminal that the Wings could never align Datsyuk with a sniper the way Yzerman was paired with Fedorov or Toews with Kane. Season after season, game after game, Datsyuk would dangle and dance his way through the defense with the puck, drawing the defense to one side and then execute a perfect pass on the tape to a teammate with a relatively wide-open shot....Justin Abdelkader (ugh). Abdelkader, of course, would duff more of those gifts from Datsyuk than he'd make.

Dubnyk keeping Minnesota in this game, 1-0 Jets with a minute to go. Wild missed an opportunity to steal this one and make it a series. Jets get an EN goal, 2-0.

Double OT in caps jackets game. I don’t know why I was surprised to see two games will be on the Golf Channel of all places.

I could see a reprise of Hawks-Perds '15 where they have to go to (((Saros))) for a game or two to get the team back in it but I don't trust goalies under six feet in the modern NHL.

The Kings are pathetic. Jesus Christ. Joke of a league to let this happen.

most likely the winner of this moves on to the SCF. i'd guess the Sharks' experience as a team would win out this year. but it should be a great series. a Stanley Cup championship parade & celebration in Vegas would be something.

Jets/Preds - Preds goalie situation doesn't look even close to what traditionally gets a team to the SCF. Although I think Pittsburgh had similar issues with Fleury in past Finals runs and they've managed to make the SCF and win the Cup even with some platooning at goalie. Jets- expected the Jets to have an easier time with Minnesota than they've had with 2 of the Wild's top players sidelined. True, they're likely going to win the series in 5 games. But....3, 4, 2, 2. 11 goals over 4 games, with, iirc, 2 empty netters in there? that's an average of under 2.5 goals per game with the other team's goalie on duty.

Have to give Dubnyk credit for keeping the Wild in these games, from wire to wire, basically. Dude's definitely done his job in net for Minnesota, facing an average of 36 shots per game over the 4 games. Jets offense could break out big-time against Rinne in the next round.

True, but the Wild's m.o., especially with Dubnyk, has been to put up a fight without ever truly convincing anyone that they can win. I know what the Jets' top nine is capable of; maybe a gassed Rinne with what's been a discombobulated defense will be a better matchup.

EDIT: you got in there already

So much for my Vegas first round exit prediction. Gonna cost me a growler at Light the Lamp. Fucking Kings.

I'm still strong on the Jets making it through. Every game i see is a painful reminder of how much I muss big Buff.
