I know I've told this story before but I'll tell it again because it's a PTSD situation when Ronnie's name is brought up.

Back in the lean days of the early/mid-90s bleachers, we were out there all the time. About 30% populated at times back then and Ronnie would just sit near us because we were a group. We'd buy him a beer so he knew us.

One day after a game, my friends and I all went to El Jardin and Ronnie came in. There was hardly anybody in there on a late-afternoon horrible Cub-team postgame. But, there was a bachelorette party in there doing one of those scavenger hunts. One item was to get a guy's underwear and the girls with the party came and asked us.

I called Ronnie over and informed him what they were looking for. Ronnie proceeded to go into the bathroom and walk out with underwear in hand and throw them on the bar between us and the party.

It cleared out the bar pretty quickly.

1. Because he was with Bernstein for years. Knew Bernstein hated Woo Woo. Wanted to please and impress him. Knowing what Goff knows about Bernstein now, he wouldn't have done it. But at the time he wanted to be a hero to Bernstein.

2. He knew the white people weren't gonna do anything out of fear of being accused of being racist. So he felt obligated to save an embarrassing moment from happening as the brother in the room. If he throws out the brother, no big deal.

I'm not saying it was wrong. I guess Mac was saying it was wrong. If Ronnie was wearing a piss stained Cubs uniform and wooing, of course it was right of Goff to take the initiative and throw his ass out. If he was dressed properly and respectful, then you should take the cue from the family or at least ask them if you sense a problem. Maybe Goff did that. I don't know. Or maybe he saw the shocked look on the Buffone family and that was the cue. Could be the case.

Goff's heart was in the right place. So I won't knock him. He thought he was doing right.

Then Goff is the fool and got snookered. When Goff did that all those racist score employees were probably like 'good job boy'. Looked at him like a fucking servant i bet. What a fucking idiot.

I don't know what Jason said about it on the air, but I did not run into him at the wake. The guy I ran into complained to me and anybody else who would listen. And it wasn't just about Ronnie Woo Woo.... he was put off ANY listeners would attended.
