Ok pick by the Raiders. Some young, cheap talent on the OL

This is an exciting, young edge rusher. He's very raw but his upside is off the charts. When you're talking about an edge rusher, he's raw but gifted, I love his motor and body type. Reminds me a lot of Ziggy Ansah. --Mike Mayock

I could see that on a rebuilding team. Bree’s will be sitting in his rocking chair before this guy develops. Take the QB first.

Neither options sounds right though.

As of right now Brees is still very good. So is this team. Draft a win now guy and develop a QB later.

Hurst still on the board? PFF had him 3 overall (based on their rankings, not a predictive index for team's drafting position)

Quote:
3. MAURICE HURST, MICHIGAN – INTERIOR DEFENDER
The prototypical 3-technique defensive tackle, Hurst offers a pass-rushing toolbox that no other interior player in this class can come close to matching. His four-year career of grades is unlike anything we’ve ever seen at the defensive tackle position, proving his durability and sustainability at the position. – Mike Renner

I know he was diagnosed with a heart condition at the Combine; supposedly he was cleared but I'm sure that has scared off some teams.

I agree in general but a good team doesn’t get a shot at a top QB. Take him now and (if he’s good) you stay playoff caliber when the inevitable transition happens.

Pack got NO 2019 1st rounder and 2018 second and third in that trade?. They may have made out very well in the long run.

EDIT: typed before this current trade

better than Seattle or any NFC team getting him. Surprised the Chargers went Defense 1st round. Figured they'd kowtow to Rivers and take an offensive piece in the first round.

I think it was a 5th, not 2nd.

Cowboys will prolly take Calvin Ridley. Anthony Miller from Memphis might be the best WR in the draft. At least he's the most impressive/fun to watch on tape:

Looks like they (Packers) traded down 4 spots, gave up a 3rd and gained a 1st. Maybe not so bad.

Except they drafted a midget that’s gonna get owned by any big WR and that’s before taking into account we draft DBs high constantly and they almost always suck or underperform at best.

This is horrible start to the draft.

I just don't know about this Kolton Miller pick.

Durability concern and now I hear he's a "waistbender" and not a "kneebender." That can't be good.

My Oakland Raiders buddy was not pleased with the puck considering Derwin James was still available.

He’s 6’9” and not very flexible/athletic, and gonna play in the nfl. I see nothing that can go wrong.

Sounds like JaMarcus Webb. Did he knock Mike Tice over with one hand?

That’s all true but the “we’ve missed at that position in the past” logic is irrelevant. They need to fix the position and it’s a different GM. I’m not saying I agree with what they did but I also admit to knowing nothing about the guy they drafted. However if you read his pre-draft profile he sounds pretty solid except for injuries. He’s also listed at 5’-11” and has a 35”vertical so I don’t know if he’s particularly short for the position. (Also a 4.38 40 which they can use).
