It was not just handchecking. The game was much more physical back then. You drove the lane at your own peril. Guys drive the lane today often times unimpeded. The sort of fouls that are labeled as flagrants are often a joke.

Right. And you can't point out that there were also variables in Jordan's favor, such as his competition. Jordan beat a lot of shitty teams too. But that critique is only reserved for Lebron.

Jordan rarely had difficulty getting his shot off. Kobe did at times. That's why he shot a lower percentage overall. Jordan also took better shots. His mid range jumper was better also. Kobe had more range but Kobe's shot selection was terrible.

Kobe made shots that had higher degrees of difficulty but that was primarily due to taking shots that had higher degrees of difficulty. He took shots that Jordan wouldn't.

I think more like Junior High, but trust me when I say I've seen his whole career. I was obsessed with Jordan. His posters were all over my walls. I used to sit and listen to the Bulls on the radio when they weren't on TV, and I've watched tape of pretty much his whole career. I can still recite the rosters of both 3-peats by year.

In other words, I know what MJ was despite the fact that I was very young when he was first in the league.

Your reference points only go back to the 3 peat era. however. Jordan had been in the league for 7 years up until that point.

To be honest the more dominant Jordan pd predates the 3 peat era. The Jordan pd. when he actually had hair he was a motherfucker. His first step was the quickest that i'd ever seen. He couldn't be checked.

I understand that. I've seen him during those years. My much older brother used to tape all their games. Just because I wasn't alive doesn't mean I haven't seen him play when he was young.

Additionally, I haven't said anything knocking Jordan. I simply said that Kobe isn't given the credit he deserves.

I disagree. Kobe as a player is generally regarded as a top 10 player. He also is regarded as the best player drafted from 96 til the year Lebron was drafted.

I think that Particular tag is unfair to Tim Duncan. Duncan was a better player than Kobe Bryant but he was never portrayed as such.
