There are unsubstantiated rumors of imminent changes down the dial. Have you heard these rumors? Can you give us further details?

Yes, I have heard rumblings... but I haven't talked to anybody there about it. I can do a little digging if you'd like. What is it you specifically want me to investigate?

Umm, what changes are being discussed.

Will Mike North be taken out of the morning drive slot so I can have some decent sports talk to listen to in the morning?

Oh, please, please, please, please . . . gods of radio, make it happen.

Looking for a little direction, TM. Which show? Which changes? When a guy goes diggin', he needs to ask a direct question to get denial or confirmation. Ask a generic question, it's difficult to get truth from a generic response. I have not heard any specifics about any changes.

New morning drive show or new co-host on that show?
Split of afternoon personalities?

Is North gone for good?

And is Murph going back with Fred on the old-new morning show?

I wouldn't necessarily like to see Mike gone, just on air in a different role.
However, I would like to see Murray and Fritz back together again. I enjoyed my mornings much more when they were at the helm.

The two things being talked about are a Murph and North Pairing (i.e. technically another 'Mike and Mike') or that North will be gone altogether.

Where did the first rumor come from? This would not be a bad idea - load up North, Murphy, Jesse and George in a program from midnight to five - The Overnight Shitfest.

Add Harry, Fred and LoHo and the purge would be beautifully complete.

Since you're on the trail Mac, I've got some specific questions.

What will happen to the lovely Jen Jen? Is Pappy fighting for a "Jen Jen clause"? Where by she will always get to produce for Pappy.

Will Fred still be employed at the Score after this shake?

Wow, I totally forgot about that. Another in a line of "great" "expert" analysts on the Score. But can anyone top Buddy Ryan from the very early days of the station, when he didn't even know the names of the players on the teams he was supposed to analyze?

Flip open my copy of the National and spin the dial to 820... or was it 1160 first? I can't remember which one came first. I'm not THAT old.

I hope Mac digs into the morning scene. North is impossible to listen to and Mike and Mike are little better. NPR for me in the A.M, but I'd give a new morning lineup a chance on 670.

Remember, Mike North refers to Jesse Rogers as a "baseball expert".

On the other hand both Hubie and Collins were great at breaking down games and being conversational with the hosts.

Oh, they've had some good ones, too, don't get me wrong, but a lot of clunkers. It seems hard to find someone well-spoken, knowledgable, with a sense of humor somewhat greater than that of a garbage can lid, and willing to do more than just spew cliches and conventional wisdom and actually give some real opinons without being afraid of offending current or former colleagues.

Given as how things are unsubstantiated, alleged and 100% unreliable on this here board, even info on what you heard in rumblings would be nice. Accuracy is Feder's job! (or is that, transcribing press releases is Feder's job? Whatever he does, it's his job.)

Many thanks for offering to share...

I hope I don't get any PM's for this, but I'd like to see Mike paired up with a black person again. I was all for him and Hood, and I would be equally intrigued by a North-Holmes pairing or North-Goff duo. If anything, someone can take him to task when he goes on one of his bigoted tangents....

Nas,
Because even as a pushover who wouldn't standup to North, Buffone is a very likeable guy and he knows football.

Spmack,
North has made enougth ridiculous statements over the years to completely justify your request.
