I greatly disagree. Massie is a joke of a right tackle and Leno is marginal as a pass blocker and is lousy as a run blocker. Fox made a huge mistake in not upgrading the tackles in his tenure and while I understand that the new guys can't upgrade everything, these tackles that they have are an awful twosome.

This brings me back to Whitehair. I believe that they should really consider moving him to right tackle and keep him there. He played mostly tackle in college and was excellent there. His technique is excellent. If they do that, then maybe they can get away with Leno at left tackle until they can find a good tackle in the draft next season.

They are still not built like a modern defense. The secondary is middling and the pass rush is really shitty. The offense is capable of carrying games though, and if they get just a little lucky hopefully they can wring enough turnovers out of the guys they've got now to push them over the edge.

Maybe the addition of Smith can add a dimension to the pass rush that has been lacking. Clearly, they have not add DEs that can pass rush and Fangio has not been able to use blitzes for a variety of reasons. Just maybe getting Smith with a hopefully healthy Trev(?) and Floyd can open up an attacking defense.
