The oddest part about Kevin White pick was Vic Beasley was right there waiting to be selected. But y'know bright side is Bears are entering 2018 training camp with 2 top-10 picks for the 4th straight year.

I think they wanted Leonard Williams and got swooped. Doesn't excuse the pick though. White didnt make sense even when they made it. Marcus Peters or Kevin Johnson would mean no desperately clinging to garbage Kyle Fuller.

2003 Bears draft

RD1 - Michael Haynes
RD1 - Rex Grossman
RD2 - Charles Tillman
RD3 - Lance Briggs

But because they drafted a complete bust in Haynes and a partial bust in Grossman, Tillman and Briggs are completely disqualified, yeah?

Or is this exclusive to top 10 picks?

Tillman Briggs save the draft but blowing a top 10 pick still makes it a bad draft. Also they botched the QB position too, so that prevented them from winning a Superbowl. Yes I understand Palmer was the only good QB in that draft, but by attaching themselves to Grossman, they essentially ensured they would never win a SB.

That's two SOLID multi-year all pros, one really should be HOF, in one draft. Just abandon this argument if you're going to call that draft that produced Briggs and Tillman "bad".

Tillman was a great pick. Weak Outside Linebackers flourish in the Tampa 2(see Kato June). While Briggs was a nice pick, he benefited HIGHLY from the system.

I mean those are two of the best Bears in the last 30 years. How do you call that draft bad?

Of all the drafts and all the picks you could absolutely take the Bears to task for, the one in which they drafted Tillman & Briggs is the one you use?

There isn't even a word that describes the stupidity of that.

Yeah, dat nineteen eighty tree draft was bad cuz even do dey got Bortz, Covert, Gault, Duerson, Tayer, & Dent, dey diddin get a quarterback!

Jesus Christ Frank, are you fucking illiterate? I didn't single that draft out at all. It was better than most Bear's drafts that is for sure. I was asked specifically about that draft by Dewski, to which I provided my response.

Bob is probably still upset the Bears didn't win by at least 800 points in SBXX, and ruminating over how they could possibly have lost to the Dolphins.

And you're still jerking off to a GM that has managed to win a whopping 13 games in three years.

Decent at best. They fucked the QB position. You of all people should know the importance. Look at all the Ted Thompson draft warts the Aaron Rodgers selection covered.

Let's review:

RD 1 - Aaron Rodgers - HOF, 1x SB
RD 2 - Nick Collins - 3x Pro Bowl, 1x SB
RD 2 - Terrance Murphy - retired 3 games into his career
RD 4 - Marviel Underwood - injured, sucked, out of NFL by 2008
RD 4 - Brady Poppinga - steady contributor & starter for 6 seasons
RD 5 - Junius Coston - barely left a dent in NFL, out of NFL by 2008
RD 6 - Mike Montgomery - decent, unexceptional career
RD 6 - Craig Bragg - dumped from GB practice squad in Nov. of rookie year
RD 7 - Kurt Campbell - injured, cut in 2006
RD 7 - Will Whittaker - garbage

Out of 10 picks in 2005, the Packers drafted Rodgers by pure dumb luck, got the best of Nick Collins before he retired, and otherwise had 2 very minor contributors. The other 6 players were either terrible, injured, or both.

But because he drafted Aaron Rodgers, that draft class was absolutely stellar?

Tony Romo was an UDFA in 2003.

If the Bears win SBXLI, does that change your evaluation of the 2005 class?
if Aaron Rodgers doesn't win his lone Super Bowl, does his status as a HOF-likely quarterback still cleanse all sins of any subsequent draft class?

Caller Bob wrote:

Based on your evaluation skills, I'll take that as a compliment.

So 10+ years of Aaron Rodgers being HOF-worthy but no Super Bowls > 3-odd years of Grossman being mostly shit, but winning 1 Super Bowl?

I'd make that trade. Winning a Super Bowl is great.
