Wife and I went to the cubs game today. After the game, we met up at Sluggers with a couple of old high school friends, one of who is an avid fan of hockey. After finishing up our first beers, my friend gets bumped by a guy and he yells hey watch it, then "holy shit, your james wisnewkski!" Then, in walks Burish, Toews, Seabrook, Byfuglien, and I think Bourque. BTW, sorry Stink, I didnt have my cellphone to call you.

So, we were talking about the Hawks and my wife decides to go over to Wisnewski. Wisnewski turns to me and says, "You know your wife just called you a pussy". Then she bought him a bud.

For a group of guys who failed to make the playoffs the Hawks seem to be getting a lot of face time around town.They were at Sox games throwing out first pitches, Cubs games throwing out first pitches, doing radio shows, Store appearances and anything else to make a buck or show their faces.

Win something first and then take your show about town.Never confuse hard work with accomplishment.

I think the reason they need to get their face around is to get the hot chicks, as evidenced by last night.

A lot of this stuff is clearly orchestrated by McDonough in an effort to directly combat good dolphin's point that the players are relatively anonymous.

So because they missed the playoffs, by your logic, they're not allowed to be seen in public? They made it interesting for the first time in nearly a decade, playing meaningful games late in the season. Just because they're smiling and at a ball game while other teams are still playing for the Cup does not mean that any of them are in any way content with not competing for it. Players are willing to put themselves through incredible amounts of physical agony just for a shot at it, and would gladly trade a day at the park for getting a 95-mph slap shot rung off their ankle on a penalty kill.

I did it in jest, because it's usually the reverse where I'm the one that won't go up to the famous person .....I just foiund it funny how our friend chad was like a school girl seeing her fave singer and was so awe struck being in their presence. Wisnewski thought it was funny and was about to come over and talk to mike and the guys but some blonde caught his attention and I figured hey he's a single guy so I didn't want to be rude and cock block him.
