Don't know who these guys are. Go to the last 14 minutes of the show. That's when he talks about his firing and other Score stuff.

These two dopes are awful at interviewing. Goff said some stuff here but there was more he would have said if one of these idiots followed up or pressed him. Goff wanted to say more. Just like Jessup wanted to say he ordered the code red. But you gotta get it from him.

The best person to interview Goff about this shit would be me.

For those that do give a shit and don't want to listen, I'll give the highlights.

1. Goff said his ass didn't want to leave middays. He wanted to stay with Spiegel's ass cuz they had something going. He had reservations about working with Bernstein's ass. But his contract said nothing about time slots. So they basically told him he had to go with Bernstein.

2. DeCastro had been working at the SCORE for 5 months. Goff said the first time he talked to him was the day that his ass got fired. That's bad management. Or maybe DeCastro is scared of black people. Either way, DeCastro is an ass hole.

3. Goff denies that he talks too much race.

4. Goff thought that the SCORE floated shit to Robert Feder to make him look bad. Goff said Feder posted numbers that were 12 years old plus. And that all the SCORE cares about is men 25-56. And that he and Bernstein were 3rd.

Hero Goff had reservations of working with Bernstein. The main thing he mentioned was Bernstein not coming in everyday ready to "get it." He felt he built a chemistry with Speigel, but when they had Parkins waiting in the wings they needed him to move.

He came close to breaking down a few times while talking about it. In typical Goff fashion he talked for 20 min straight and used all of his usual verbal crutches (except for "there it is!").

I never felt bad when he got fired but hearing him made me feel for him a bit. His dream is more or less done and he's got a one year old to take care of with no degree or skills to fall back on besides talking sports.

I felt the same way. His voice got real low like he gets when he's in his serious mode. He was about to break down like you said. I felt bad for him too. We're used to hearing a cocky and proud Goff. This was the exact opposite. Just weeks before he got fired he was telling texters "Fuck You, my ass isn't going anywhere" when they told him he'll be fired.

Goff never saw this coming. This was a shock to him.

Feel empathy but not pity.

He’s still a young, able-bodied man with enough intelligence to change careers and do well at something.

But I'm not buying the "reservations" of working with Bernstein at the time that the switch happened. Not at all. I'm thinking Goff is saying that now because he thinks Dan did him dirty.

Goff had always loved Bernstein and hated Spiegel. Let's not forget that.

Not to mention the fact that...

1. It was a promotion. You're going to afternoons. More money in that.

2. Dan "brings it". So for Jason to question that is wrong. Has anybody ever questioned Dan's energy or willingness to go to battle? I don't think so.

Like I said, this was a passive aggressive way of Goff blaming Bernstein because Bernstein didn't stick up for him. Or something more than that. Goff hates Bernstein now. I warned him not to trust him.

Have you booked Goff yet? If these two idiots can get him then you certainly can. He's on a podcast tour. Now is the time to strike.

No.

When I heard Jason say that it made no sense. He was there for the "Child Rape" shows. To question his energy vs. Spiegel is laughable. Forget what you think of Bernstein, but to question his energy was weird. And I think it's an "After the fact" lie. I don't think Jason thought that at the time of the switch. I think he was more than happy to leave Spiegel for the more prestigious afternoon slot with Bernstein.

Goff feels scorned by his former radio wife so you say stuff like this when scorned.

Like I said, Goff was trying to be vague in his answers, but he revealed some shit. He caught himself once or twice in the interview not saying what he really wanted to say.

It's tough with Goff when you interview him cuz he likes to puke out words. That fucker loves to talk and ramble on. You could ask Goff to talk about the breakfast he just ate and by the time he's done it's dinner time.

But had these two idiots listened to him and interjected some questions there is no doubt they would have had an "You're God Damn right I did" moment. Goff was ready and wanting to tell the truth.

Wrong really. Bernsie never gave effort as far as prep. Even with Terry. They were show up and turn on the mic. Spiegs may have missed his days but he was a hard worker on the show. At least it seemed to me.

Yep.

Dan was proud of his "roll out the ball and recreate" attitude towards the show. Speigs always talked about the show prep they would do. For all of his other faults, not prepping for a show wasn't one of them.

Agreed, but the problem is that Goff was part of that for years as producer.

I don't think show prep was the issue as much as show content was the issue. Preparing an hour a day wouldn't have made a difference if they were still producing a show they wanted to listen to rather than a show people wanted to listen to.

Oh I agree. I like B&B pre-Penn State and they did the show with no prep.

I was simply agreeing with Mike's assessment and disagreeing with Beardown's screed.

There is no way Goff wanted to stay at middays. He didn't want a promotion to work with the lead host at the station on a show he produced for? It didn't work out, but that's just sour grapes. It's tough to lose your job in such a high profile way, but telling off his listeners nearly everyday had a predictable ending.

Maybe he can become the vice president at a vitamin company now.

Goff certainly took a lot of shots at his former partner for a guy who didn't want to leave that partner.

Also apparent that Goff hates Parkins.

One of the co-hosts was riffing on Parkins having a punch-able face and being a know it all, and Goff could only muster "no comment".

Jason also spoke warmly of Terry (and who wouldn't), dropping that it was Terry who gave him the green light to elevate himself to pseudo-host status. We always agreed that Matt was Terry's guy and Jason was Dan's, yet here's Matt Spiegel getting more praise for helping Jason along than Dan got.

The whole thing about not wanting afternoons because he had such a good thing going in middays sounds highly dubious. While he did have a good thing going in middays (670 was winning the daypart and spooked 1000 into adding an extra hour of Kaplan), I really can't believe someone as ambitious as Jason would decline a promotion.

Nugget I haven't seen anyone else bring up: Eric Collins and/or the other guy really wants to punch Danny Parkins in the face.

I don't quite understand the opinion that Goff is out of the business. Right now he's contractually obligated not to be in the business. He mentioned he just signed a separation agreement. When that agreement expires, I have no doubt he will get a gig. And a good one. Here or somewhere else.

It was good hearing him. I think he's talented. I think he's engaging.
