Didn’t watch but how did he end up 10th or 11th.

Seems like Tiger can turn it on when there is little pressure on him. He had nothing to lose on the weekend being behind by so many.
Watched quite a bit of his weekend. Still has some work to do with his wedges but rounding into shape. I won't be surprised to see him
contend for something by this summer.

9 or 10 guys had lower total scores.

Snedeker shot 59 this morning on a par 70 course, with a bogey on his first hole. Carded 6 birdies and an eagle on his back nine to come in with a 27.

NBC Sports is hiring Paul Azinger as its lead golf analyst with hopes he can deliver his own brand of sharp, candid observations that made Johnny Miller such a strong presence in the broadcast booth for three decades.

Miller's last tournament will be the Waste Management Phoenix Open the first weekend in February.

Azinger already has a steady voice in golf from 10 years at ABC and ESPN, and the last three years at Fox Sports for its USGA events. In a unique arrangement by today's standards, NBC Sports will allow Azinger to retain his role at Fox for the U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open.

"Everyone says I've got big shoes to fill," Azinger said. "I'm not trying to fill anybody's shoes. The challenge is to be yourself. The action is the action. I don't mind being blunt. It doesn't have to be derogatory."

Zinger is ok. I'd much rather see him in the NBC booth where things run a lot more smoothly than at Fox in which the events have tended to be
a bit of a mess. You can really only be so controversial calling golf. He should do a pretty good job.

Bryson DeChambeau said he will putt with the pin in when the pins are made of fiberglass in 2019. This new rule is going to be a joke.

He's a bit different but I give him credit for using every possible advantage at his disposal within the current rules to get the ball in the hole

Oh, I don't blame him at all. In fact, the testing suggests we all should do it with the right type of pins. Dave Pelz did a study and concluded “Leave the flagstick in whenever the Rules allow, unless it is leaning so far toward you that the ball can’t fit.”. So on tour we will see the pin going in and out for putts, which won't really slow down play for them because they have caddies (although it will look weird). But imagine a foursome of weekend duffers taking the pin in and out. I've heard groups of guys already agree that they aren't doing this because it will slow everything down. And Hank Haney has a good point - shouldn't all the pins be standardized now? It's a stupid rule.

yes pretty silly actually. I suspect that the group I usually play with will probably keep the pin out for most putts, but I'll be keeping it in on some of the
downhillers or long lag putts.

I'm the opposite. I take the pin out whenever I can. Sometimes I'll putt from off the green and remove the pin.
