That's the way the Score markets this show. Both in their daily intro to the show and in promos that run throughout the day. They tell you these two guys are intelligent.

Goff has to take that as an insult as they never marketed his show with Bernstein as "Intelligent". This is the Score telling Goff they thought he was dumb. Screw you, DeCastro!!!!!! Jackass!!!!

Same way they did with Telander joining Hood

No wonder Hood was pissed.

One of my "favorite" general memories of Bernstein and Goff, was how when trouble would hit
any athlete, coach, GM etc, it was all fair game to joke about, make fun of with no holds barred.
That's fine, however, when trouble hit D Rose, and he went AWOL from the Knicks a couple days, that was
SERIOUS radio, Goff had that lowwww voice going all morning, he knew what was "going on",
but was not allowed to talk on air about it, he was very disturbed. Bersie was trying to help D Rose,
they all wanted him safe, and it was all in the best interests of D Rose....Who were they crappin'! Kane, Santo,
Ditka, D Mac, and Urlacher would have liked the same respect over the years.....Bunch of clowns...

It's almost like translated longform poetry.

Vigil kept at button's push one morn;
When I tuned 670 and my heart sunk ever to my guts that day,
One listen I but gave which station's voice return'd with words I shant forget
One man gray and tiny, the other gaunt and dull, their voices awash with disinterest
Then onward bled did I, crost hours of drivel, WAR and CTE,
Till late in the afternoon reliev'd to hear a wheezing goat & his mate the dead-eyed frog
His face locked in death, Mac spake but a choking hush, as the frogman belched forth a wind kiss'd wager
Long their transition went, the still-breathing corpse of Boers spun thrice in his living grave

Too bad they have no interest in the funny, quirky or entertaining show.

As with Connor McKnight's supposed towering intellect, they're more interested in telling than showing.

it's just so...boring

it's just so...not as funny

In short, it reminds me of the times I listened to Waddle and Silvy. No offense, Silvy.

Parko and Mac are slowly drawing me in.

I agree. Connor isn't smart. Somebody else here said it best.

Connor is well spoken. He was an English major. But there is not an original thought in his head. He reads a lot. You can tell that. Especially about baseball. He's a baseball dork. And he just recites what he reads from others who do the research or spit out the stats.

Exactly.

Someone on the board (can't remember who) posted that if you went to Target to buy a host, Connor would be on the shelf. Or something like that. But the point was correct.

I think Carmen Defalco is the most dull, dumb and boring person ever to do radio. Not just sports radio. Not just Chicago radio. But all of radio.

Connor is a touch smarter but he's equally as dull and boring.

I cannot remember the last time Bernstein made me laugh. Back with Terry they were funny and very politically incorrect. It was great! As much as I love sports I cannot listen to hour after hour of advanced metrics discussion. I want to be entertained sometimes, not just informed. Bernstein offers great insight at times but he really needs a co-host with a big personality and a great sense of humor.

Agreed. The show is definitely not funny. However, there is such a variety of shows and podcasts that I don't need humor from everything I listen to. I have noticed that McKnight is getting wordier seemingly every show and explains himself when it is not needed. A quality I love from Parkins is that he talks fast and doesn't continually explain what the average show listener already knows.

Dan will not have the luxury of blaming his co-host this time if the show fades.

I predict [heyyyyy] the books for this show will be awful. There just isnt a hook. "Banal sports thoughts from a guy who made a career out of taking the piss out of banal sports thought factories, and also a lame dude with the personality of a malfunctioning Westworld host" isn't going to cut it, and hiding those hours in the middle of the day isnt going to help that much.

I predict you are on the money about those books. I've given the show a handful of listens after being an old B&B die hard for
a decade praying there'd be a hook but its so damn boring I'd rather shove a pencil in my ear. Dan's attempts at humor now are so neutered which is a sign of the times he has helped foster. McMilquetoast isn't a dickhead like Bernsie which is nice but like you said these guys just have no hook. They will be very lucky to see the light of 2019.

When robots/computers replace human hosts the computer programmers will use McKnight as their subject to copy+paste.

The next step is to run the corporate ass kissing character or the station out. Goodbye Professor Flakey, Hub, Zaidman, Len, etc.

It's time to get back to having a confrontational relationship with the local teams.

Jerry West [giggle] and all those old-timey players would be fringe players today because everyone is 7 feet tall and they all play defense.
