A bunch of Baby Boomers with fragile egos forced a rule change. But yes let's gloat about a bunch of ni...cash-chuckers being put in their place.

Pretty much.

This is one of the dumbest issues in the whole vacuum of the social justice movement.

Yup. White people win. Again.

Really enjoyed Chappelle's take on this situation being the one social justice issue above all else white people freaked out about.

It's not. General disinterest in the game (in part because of the over-saturation of commercials) and cord-cutting & streaming reducing/skewing viewership numbers would seem to have a far greater effect than loudmouthed crackers that claim they won't watch football again (which I'm sure 90%+ were either lying or came back within a few weeks).

Plus the quality of product has peaked.

Matchups between ranked college teams have been far more enjoyable to watch for me personally the last few years.

The Super Bowl is still pretty fun tho.

Bullshit. I can think of several family members who are veterans or their kids/sons in law who stopped watching the NFL last year because of this topic. "Won't give money or time to people who didn't respect what I did for their country" is the approximate comment from each veteran.

If my DuPage Republican family members feel that way, there's a really good chance that most of rural America feels that way as well. Unless they gamble.

In most years (every year for me), college is the better product.

Holding mass protests and pretending you are being "genocided" because police accidentally kill 5 or so unarmed people a year, most of whom are breaking the law anyways. Goes right in the trash where it belongs. Liberals lose. The infant demographic loses. I am happy.

The NFL doing this is a symptom of our larger 21st century problem. Our inability to deal and debate honestly with a presented argument (narrative). It has nothing to do with kneeling, the flag, or your far more intelligent and impressive grandfather fighting in a war. It has to do with the bullshit oppression narrative that doesn't stand up to statistical analysis. The majority of people know that the country that Kaepernick describes is not actually the reality. Nobody should be kneeling in the first place. It shouldn't even be a thought.

Has a single journalist challenged Kaepernick and Co. on this? Would their career survive through the rest of the day? These are the arbiters of truth who no longer do their jobs or feel safe to do so. Buckle up. Unless we insist that people cannot just say something with backing it up continually, we are in for a real miserable and possibly even violent ride to the bottom. Nobody knows that better than Putin and nobody tries to exploit that more. Although the far left is catching up.

Have the uncomfortable and honest conversation in order to not have the difficult war

Your grandfather couldn't even make buck private in today's Army. Do you really think your tiny white grandpa could compete with his shitty M1 carbine against FavreFan and his multicultural buddies and their M4 firepower?

He didn't even have night vision goggles. Good luck attacking the Persian Gate in the daylight hours vs. Russian backed Iranians with AK-74s and RPGs. That little Greek boy would need a lot more horses!

How anyone could give one single fuck about who stands sits or kneels is beyond me. What a waste of time and energy. I can't think of anything more pointless.

How does kneeling for the anthem have any impact on police brutality? I'd rather see him start with his local community doing things mentioned in this article and go from there. http://www.yesmagazine.org/people-power ... d-violence

You mean like this?

All I did was type in Colin Kaepernick charity.

You should protest instead of rioting if you want people to listen
You should protest peacefully and tell us why you're protesting
You should protest silently because you are inconveniencing my life
Your silent and peaceful protest is disrespectful to the men and women who have fought and given their lives so Americans can peacefully and silently protest.
Maybe you should work in local communities like I'm unaware that you're already doing to effect change.
Now that I am aware that you're doing that I'll come up with something else you should do instead of that if you want my support.
Some MEANINGLESS person did or said something stupid so now I have to put additional conditions on my support

No, I'm aware of his charitable contributions.

I don't think that his protest has had any impact on police brutality. People are discussing whether or not he should be protesting at that time, if he is being disrespectful to the country/military, and now if white billionares are trying to control their millionare employees. I don't think it's had the desired out come and caused acrimony. I would hope that wasn't the intent and it's done nothing for his cause.

He can protest anyway he wants, people can react to it anyway they want, and the league can take any action they want. I don't think any of the groups are all right or all wrong. For Goff to say if you disagree with what he is doing is supporting police brutality is absolutist and inaccurate.

Edit: Also, I don't care what he does. Stand, kneel, not be there whatever but if a good portion of veterans, military, or general public think it's offensive or it is damaging my employer I might rethink my strategy.

Yeah, you're right, Shaun King has a lot more pull than owners of NFL teams.

I would say the sponsors who side with Shaun King have more pull than the owners, yes.

The sponsors are pro-kneeling, but the NFL rolled out a rule change that's decidedly anti-kneeling? Sound business decision by the NFL.

Did you read why? They dont want to the league to be a political lightning rod in the midst of pretty contested midterm elections. They'll take the bad press now to avoid dealing with it in the fall. May-June-July is the slowest time of the year for the NFL, people will forget by the time training camp rolls around.

That way the league doesn't have to pick between upsetting their sponsors and upsetting a large segment of their fanbase. Pretty good solution IMO I dont see why everyone is upset.

That’s always a great one. Iirc you may have been guilty of that yourself when Kaep first started protesting.

You’re crazy if you think this issue is going away. Jets co owner already said he’s willing to pay the fines if players want to protest.
