Frank Thomas was released today by the Blue Jays. Big Frank says this isn't how his career ends, but who would possibly sign him?

I'm not sure why the Jays would cut him. Didn't he start off terribly slow in Oakland 2 years back, but ended up with pretty good overall numbers?

The Jays cut him cuz he has a clause that makes the Jays pay him 10 million if he reaches a certain amount of at bats. The certain amount of at bats would activate the 10 million for next year. They just ate the rest of this year to avoid paying him next year.

Somebody will pick him up. This actually hurts Bonds if he had thoughts of coming back. Now there is one more DH out there. Teams would rather have Frank than Bonds.

Would they want to put up with his ego?

would they want to let billy butler try his hand at the field? don't think so.

he'd actually be perfect for another go with the A's. their current options are former royals dh mark sweeney and streaky juicer jack cust. neither one excites me as much as the possibility of frank thomas, though i wouldn't expect him to do what he did with them in 2006.

The Blue Jays are going to use Matt Stairs or Rod Barajas as their DH, so this is definitely not about talent.

He would be a better option than that MVP stealing roid thief the Yankees currently employ.

The Orioles could use him.

The sun times reported interest from the twins.

Frank will be employed before the month is finished.

The Royals have a young emerging talent in Butler at DH. Frank won't be going there.

I could see Texas making a move for him. They don't have much at DH. Orioles could use Aubrey Huff in the field and sign him. I could also see the Angels looking at him on the cheap.

I think the best options for him would be the A's, M's, or O's. If any of these three are serious about taking their good start and building on it, Hurt is the kind of hitter who could really help them out. Texas could use him, but I don't know if he'd want to go there, where they're at right now.
