76-80-75 over the weekend. Sunday was so hot I had to rent a cart to finish the back nine. The humidity and heat were stifling. Yesterday was one of
the weirdest rounds I've had in a while. We played a shorter course in our rotation that we don't game too often. 6100 from the tips.
Anyway I made 5 birdies on the front and made the turn at -3. Stumbled a little early on the back, regained some footing and
then managed to shank a 90yd gap wedge from the middle of the fairway and take a double. Birdied the next hole and then on #17 I
managed to take two chips to get on the green and then three putted from inside 10 ft for a triple. Six birdies and finished with +5 on
the scorecard. :? I hope I learned something from that round.

89 for my first time out on Sunday. Pretty happy. Had three 3 putts and one lost ball or it could have been a real nice round. Teed off at 630 and was unloading the clubs at 940 and it was already hot.

Have fun!

19 over. averaging just over a bogie a hole is my best round ever. 2 birdies and 3 pars. it felt pretty good. they bunched the tips in the with blue so it wasn't truly from the tips.

played a bit worse the next day on a much easier course. we took 3rd in the fundraiser. had the longest drive on the long drive hole

Finally got out. My scores were nothing to be proud of but for the first whacks at golf balls this year I was pleased. Driver killed me until I got back to my correct thinking. My left foot is like a good/bad switch. If I do not concentrate on that I am completely screwed. The good news is no beer for golf made it easy for me to think and not just get frustrated.

Probably a bit of a waste of money but I had my parents take my old Mizuno MP-33s to replace the slick grips I had on there. This is the
set that sits at their house and I use when I go down to visit. Pretty positive this will be the last time I will ever need to replace the grips
on these. Still my favorite irons of all time. I'll be hitting them in July down in Charlotte and had some birthday money burning a hole in
my pocket so I said what the hell. Golf Pride MCC4 Midsize Gray. Same as I have on my current sticks so there will be some continuity
there.

Maybe a little cool for this time of year but shaping up to be a beautiful weekend for golf. Early tee times both days. Might
get out tonight and practice my short game somewhere. Playing with a really talented guy tomorrow so that should be fun to
watch.

Best of luck Franky. I gave up tournament golf a few years ago as I put a little too much pressure on myself and found it to be a bit of a grind.
Hopefully you get hooked up with some good guys and just enjoy it.

That's the good thing. I entered the "open" category so I get to play with a friend both days. He's a real good player (was a 2 time JuCo all-American) and has been itching to play in a tournament after a long break. I'm trying to go in with the attitude of whatever happens, happens.

That is cool. Nice to play with someone you know and also someone to try to keep up with. What JuCo did he go to out of curiosity?

Rock Valley in the early 90's. They actually had a pretty good team back then. Made it to Nationals IIRC.

Yes, sounds like you have a good attitude about it. Good luck and have fun!

Early tee time at Coyote Run tomorrow. Hoping to keep my game fairly dialed in. Limit the mental mistakes and big numbers on the card.

I played 2 seasons for College of Lake County in the mid 90s. I'm guessing we played against Rock Valley at some point but I can't remember that
far back any more. A lot of good players out there, even at that level of JC golf. Have a great weekend. Hopefully you are playing a course
you are a little familiar with.

87 at Tanna Farms yesterday. 3 birdies and 3 sevens on the scorecard. Sand has suddenly become my nemesis.

Started playing better the last 2 rounds once I committed to alcohol. Not happy about this, but I should be in fine form for the JORR Invitational.

41-41 for an 82. I had three doubles - one bad luck, one dumb mistake, and one I was lucky to get out of there with nothing worse. I had four 3-putts. One thing about tournament golf after not playing it for while is you tend to think "don't 3-putt" instead of "ok, make this". I was pushing the ball to the hole instead of making a good, solid stroke on the greens. Overall though, I'll take the 82. Back at it tomorrow.

Carded an 87 on Saturday. Dead shanked 2 shots from the middle of the fairway and one off the tee from a par 3. Also two 3 putts.
Decided to take yesterday off. Probably hit the golf range at some point this week and do a partial teardown of my set up and
pre shot routine. Looking at it as a whole, this is probably a great time to have something like this happen.

48+46 = 94 at Coyote Run on Saturday. Two birdies and two pars on the front, but two 7's and a 9er did me in. Four lost balls on the day. Very inconsistent off the tee and with my long irons. Played more bogey-par golf on the back except for a six on a fairly easy par 3 after I put my tee shot in the drink. Putting and chipping was great, though. Only one 3-putt, and I chipped up to within 3-4' several times to save MANY strokes. Weather was near perfect for golf. Teed off at 7:04, with temps in the 60s for most of the round with a light overcast and very little wind to speak of. The course was in absolutely amazing shape as well. Hoping I can hit more fairways off the tee and get the longer irons in check for the Jorr Orr Invitational in a few weeks.

The only issue of the day was the threesome in front of us who were holding everybody up. These guys were acting like they were PGA players, waiting for greens to clear from 250+ out and having a preshot routine that you could time with a calendar. One of the douche's was playing barefoot. The ranger was all over them and actually made them pick up and drop on the green on the par 5 14th. We didn't finish until noon.

Great time golfing yesterday as a single at Glenview. Was randomly paired up with a great couple getting married this summer, she was an attorney and a great golfer and he was Northwestern men's basketball assistant coach Billy Donlon, playing the first full round of golf of his life and was as horrible as you'd expect, but had a great attitude about it and played fast. She was crushing balls 230-240 off the tee from the ladies tee, it was quite impressive. She confirmed that yes, she does win all the long drive competitions at the lawyer scrambles she attends. I got to spend the whole day talking college hoops past and present, it was a blast.

I played really well from the middle tees on the par 70 course, 39-44-83. Wind was brutal, 3 clubs at times. Putting and chipping were fantastic, complete opposite of last week. That's how it goes for me, I'm either putting great and chipping everything close or its all horrible. Only 30 putts for me today and you know my chipping was good when I had only 3 GIR's all day, but still shot that 83. Getting up and down greenside 7/10 times helped quite a bit. Even had a nice sandy in there and then another sand shot where I hit the flag and it rolled back hard and off the green and into the rough, terrible luck.

A two hole stretch of double-triple ruined my chances at flirting with 80. But, no complaints...hit only 6/14 fairways and like I said only 3 greens so getting out of there with an 83 is quite an accomplishment IMO.

Hit a bucket of balls yesterday and didn't shank any of them so I guess that is progress. Still don't feel like the game is ready for prime time so
I am bailing out of golf this weekend and will hit the range at Pine Meadow on Saturday morning for a few hour session. Also a chance to hit a
lot of balls out of the sand, chip and putt. Really love practicing over there although I do not agree at all with them cutting down all the trees
and brush that used to block out the practice area from the road.

Finally got the iron set. Mizuno MX-300 5 thru PW. Played Meadowlark last week, and did make some improvements. Clubs feel great and the good shots are real good.

Range bucket was solid today. Looking to get to the range twice a week and another round or two in leading up to the JORR Invitational.
